most of the film is from the USS Forrestal fire..look it up on you tube..thats not footage from the big E..I was on the Forrestal during the fire and that's our explosions and fire.
ОтветитьNarrator: "tore the ship apart down to the waterline"... uh... the flight deck, now down to the waterline.
ОтветитьI was in my AIMD WC630 shop located on the main deck frame 32 when the first explosions occurred. GQ was scheduled that morning and several of my shipmates had already gone to their stations. The explosions tore through their station, Repair 7, they were lost.
ОтветитьSo Enterprise and Forestall had the same kind of accident ???? my good friend Bill was on enterprise when this happend.. .. he was deep in the bowles working on hydraulics.. the whole ship shutterd
Ответитьi was a 12 year old watching enterprise return from the concrete pier on the west side of the entrance channel.
looked like a wrecking yard on the flight deck and im sure i saw some white sheets on the fantail on the hanger deck.
that pier still had world war 2 oil and concrete rubble around it
i was in school there 3 years as my father was on 6 month rotations to vietnam with the EOD team at west loch
Wrong ship. Forestall not big e
ОтветитьMy dad told me he was on the cvn-65 below deck, heard some light rumbles(big ship),he was going up and a shipmate told him to stay put, that he would check it out.Multiple explosions and that guy never came back but saved my dads life.Weird how quickly life can turn....
ОтветитьFair winds and Following seas shipmates
ОтветитьMy father was injured in this explosion. He never talked about it. Watching this wrenched my heart and tears began streaming down my face - seeing a video of the what he must have gone through was much more powerful than any story told to me by my mother.
ОтветитьMy dad was on the Enterprise at athis time!
Ответитьyou'd think after the USS Forrestal they wudda been able to prevent this from happening again...very very sad
ОтветитьEarly 80's V2 arresting gear "Rat" here. Best time of my life was at night, Sea of Japan. Crap weather recovering aircraft. I was "given" the opportunity to be the hook runner. I had the flight deck practically to my self. Standing there while the aircraft landed with the cable push bar in hand resisting the urge to dive for the catwalk. Good times
Ответитьthat was not worst accident the worse that happened was in 98 when the prowler Yankee 1 crashed into her deck and hit a parked aircraft and a load of bombs.
ОтветитьThe fire this video discusses occurred onboard the USS FORRESTAL (CV 59) on 29 July 1967 in the Gulf of Tonkin off the coast of Vietnam. This never happened to USS ENTERPRISE as stated in this video ... never. The footage and circumstances discussed happened to the brave Sailors of USS FORRESTAL (CV 59) ... get it straight Smithstoneian Channel.
ОтветитьFirst, this was a war
Now it's an anime and game based on this war-
WW2 Sailors :
Lol, first time?
You cant hit me
ОтветитьI was their that day.....va-146 bomb loader......
ОтветитьRepaired in 51 days! Pretty certain it would take longer than that now!
ОтветитьI was there that day. ELT, forward shack. GQ station was 2nd deck starboard, just forward of the aft mess deck.
ОтветитьAlmost identical to the USS Forrestal incident.
ОтветитьMy husband, Thomas Anthony Karney, was on the Enterprise when this took place. A horrific situation. Unforgettable tragedy. Thanks to God that he was not hurt.
ОтветитьUSS Enterprice: ship
Star trek USS Enterprice: spaceship
ghost of CV-6 original enterprise
meh i've seen much much worst
Kinda reminds me what happen to the Forrestal
ОтветитьMy grandson died on the ship
ОтветитьHe died in the hull when the ship blew up he was there at the spot when the ship blew
ОтветитьI was there that day also. I was 19 and worked on Cat #4 launching airplanes. We all ran towards the fantail when the explosions started. To this day I still have vivid memories of being on that hose line and facing the inferno. I can't tell you how many times we were knocked off our feet from the force of the explosions, but we managed to get back up and fight the fires. We lost a member of the cat team that day and many injured, including myself. As a young man it was the first time in my life I ever experienced people being killed right in front of me. I can't tell you the horrible feeling that was. I am proud of my crew mates for getting the fire under control in such a rapid fashion. To my shipmates that perished I will never forget you. Your memories live on.
ОтветитьWait a minute where is the propeller planes wait a minute this is not the enterprise in the battle of midway
ОтветитьMy Dad was there that day I've heard the story and seen the footage I can't even think about it without tearing up. God bless our men n women fighting and who have fought for this great country of ours.
ОтветитьFirt images come from USS Forrestal (1967)
ОтветитьSo sad.😔. USS Enterprise visited NZ... salute and respect 🇳🇿
ОтветитьJust meet Mr. John McDougall he was there that day he came all the way from Montana to lemoore CA may God bless him thank you for your service
ОтветитьBTS army comment🫰💜💜💜💜
ОтветитьMy dad was on that ship 3 years later after that happened
ОтветитьAll hero's! R.I.P. 🇺🇸
Ответить51 days for repairs. Wow.😮
ОтветитьThere was also an accident that happened in 1998 on the flight deck between 2 jets. I know about 98 crash because my dad was one of them there trying to prevent spread and do clean up
ОтветитьUSS Forrestal….VF-11
ОтветитьI was aboard that day attached to VA-145. My GQ station was across from sick bay. I helped wounded injured crew to sick bay. A week Later I caught a flight back to NAS Whidbey Island to see my wife and newborn The flight I was on is described as an Angel Flight with just me and 28 silver coffins covered with an American Flag. I sat in a jump seat, this was a memorable moment and honor.
ОтветитьBut this also happened, on uss forestal on 67, no lessons learned?
ОтветитьOne of the guys who went topside to assist was YNC Walt Byrd. I used to go jogging with him and he'd talk about the awful things he witnessed that day. Walt was a stand-up guy with life-changing wisdom that I'm still thankful for!
ОтветитьIt amazes me that i was in the navy and never heard of this fire. I had the forrestal disaster preached to me at every available moment, but I never knew this happened.
ОтветитьI was the photographer that took a lot of these pictures. 0-14 level
An unbelievable day
400 men was killed this is incorrect
Ответить400 men died underneath there was around 4000 man on board not 28
