my smallville dvd's got me through some of the hardest times in my life. thank all of you..
ОтветитьHonestly, Rosenbaum being nervous in the beginning worked perfectly with the story. The more evil Lex got, the more swagger he had.
ОтветитьVery enjoyable! Thanks for letting us all be part of your "family."
ОтветитьI know I'm very, very late on commenting, but one thing I love about Lex is that his character had this really great ambiguity when it came to his true motives. I always believed that he only wanted the best for Clark, his family and Lana but it would have been easy to think the opposite.
ОтветитьThought I’d get my 13 year old in on my rewatch (I knew the pilot and bug guy episodes would help - dark enough to not be a “mom show”) He really likes it! Still holds up 😎. Best Lex/Superman ever. I hope the animated show happens. Now I have to catch up to the podcast…
ОтветитьWow I am really forcing myself to get through these, I love smallville and on my new rewatch after ten years now it's on Amazon Prime but this is very boring...Michael is not a good podcast host, I have tried to watch inside of you so many times, but OMG I can see why lex was your only role that was not a complete flop...you really have no charisma...
One thing that sucks is no new bluray release!
My fav this ep?:
The market:
When Whitney tells Clark he needs that necklace back. And Clark snarky says to go find it in the field.
Tom: you sold that moment for me( relatable because every one of us has had a similar moment of feeling less than thru our circumstances ,and yet we all wish we could find that line as a comeback.)
Then in an instant you return as Clark( loved the split realization and camera catching that)
I'm only on my second episode of Talkville and I already feel like I'm hanging out with my old school friends. Thank you guys for doing this!
ОтветитьI lovee Michael's voice!
ОтветитьI know this an old video now, (sorry I'm late to the pod cast) been a fan of the show since day one. But to help answer the question of how many ppl Clark saved....billions...in the last episode alone he saved the whole planet from Warworld and Darkseid
ОтветитьI am so glad I finally found this podcast. I’m coming in way late (they’re in Season Four now), but it’s been a real treat seeing this. Tom and Michael, I love you guys. ❤
ОтветитьThis episode’s ending is still one of my favorite’s from season 1 and the entire series. I went back and watched it and it’s is still a work of art. Clark returning Lana’s neckless to “Wherever You Will Go” by The Calling, leaving the neckless on the door handle and Clark walking down the path after with the shot tilting up to the night sky after Lana finds her neckless is peak. Great moments like that are what made the show great and are why Smallville is the only show I own on DVD.
ОтветитьI want to know how many trucks the Kent family goes through
ОтветитьBug guy didn't die! He's in the episode where he goes to their high school reunion
ОтветитьOmg why no one told me about this podcast😊
ОтветитьIt just dawned on me that the in universe reason Clark never flew is because the emotion tied to his power of flight, has to be love.
He only floated when thinking about Lana, or dancing with Lois.
He can only fly because of his love for Lois.
Definitely bug bites.
Ответитьit's so weird talking about tom taking his shirt off, when clark was supposed to be 14 xD
ОтветитьHe saved LEX so 5
ОтветитьSorry but Michael needs to let Tom speak
ОтветитьAs much as Tom might think he makes, only making $14M off the show is sad when you look at other shows and actors making that per season or even every half season. If anything tom was underpaid for the entire series
ОтветитьI agree, Smallville had awesome music through the entire show, I feel in love with so many. Thanks Smallville! 🙌🏻
Ответитьwell episode 2 is not my fav
ОтветитьThe freak of the week is actually a fitting idea -- I know this isn't Superman, but it's a trope that in very much in line with comic book sensibility. it definitely got on my nerves, but for the first few seasons it's pretty well utilized. for example here bug boy represents everything Clark is afraid of being associated with. him fixating on Lana and having a lousy family is the unhealthy contrast of who Clark is.
ОтветитьI was wondering how long it would take before you guys mention this was shot on film. . . the comment about cameras being better bothered me because say what you want about special fx the image itself was superior than anything you'll see today
ОтветитьI'm pretty sure you can't get crabs from sitting on a couch lol. Unless you're sitting on that couch but ass naked 😂
ОтветитьI'm just starting to watch this podcast, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that Allison Mack will never appear on it lol
ОтветитьClark also “floats” in the season finale of season 1. He describes to his parents that in the tornado he essentially willed himself towards Lana to save her. This implies some sort of floating or flying.
ОтветитьThe actor who plays Pete was on the show for three seasons. He left before they went to college. Whitney was two seasons.
Ответить1st season looks more like a x files episode than a superheroe show. I think they even use the same music as the x files. Great season!
ОтветитьExcellent work
ОтветитьThe bug guy is in season 10, with Brainiac at the school reunion🤔
ОтветитьI'm super late to this podcast. I only recently found this because Smallville is on Hulu and I started to watch it. Omigod, this is so cool. Superman and Lex Luther doing a show? Really cool! I also didn't know Lex Luthor was that funny. Definitely subscribing❤
ОтветитьI know I'm late to this party, but, I gotta say that I'm loving this podcast! The way Michael and Tom are so hilariously childish with each out just makes me laugh. Thank you guys for the opportunity to join alongside y'all in this rewatching series, you're all awesome! 😃
ОтветитьHeh Lex: I’m kidding of course
ОтветитьThat was THE Leanne.
ОтветитьYeah, the music was always top notch 👍
ОтветитьBtw, the radiation that kryptonite gives off, mutates their DNA, and enable their powers. But they don’t carry kryptonite in their blood
ОтветитьHello Talkville: This was a pretty good episode, but not the greatest or the worst. It has a lot of Character build up and we get to learn a bit more about how Lex/Clark both get to feel about being outsiders - which is a unique DYNAMIC to examine!!! With the Bug Boy character, we get a chance to see what the villain actually feels, which is a little scary, in my opinion.... ~ Viscen 🥷🌹
P.S. This show carries the tradition that the last one UNFORTUNATELY had which is it earned 🎉🎉 out of 5 in my opinion....
Something you don't realize about Lex, is that he has never had real friends in his life, so he doesn't know how to socialize, he doesn't know how to treat friends, he doesn't know about boundaries, prudence or tact, because All his life he has been rich, lonely and no one really has loved him.
So he just does what he has always done, react as he would with anyone who has approached him in the past, just to get something from him, because he feels that no one loves him for who he is, but for the last name he has. So, he usually stalks and investigates the people around him, until he is sure that they are people he can trust. While, for him, friendships are, in some ways, simple transactions and almost "business" movements, in which he needs to have the tactical advantage to ensure success.
And no, the topic of Clark's flight never comes up again in the series, until Kara tries to help him fly. Kara tells Clark that flying is part of his nature, but that he can't, because he feels too "human." So, we could say that the reason Clark flies is because he just learned of his origin, and in his mind, he doesn't feel like a human being. But as time goes by, he ends up feeling too human.
Ответить"I wonder how he would feel if he got crabs"?!
😂😂😂😂😂
Bruh😂😂😂
About Tom’s question at the end, Clark floated several times later on the show, he floated to the caves and woke up right there when Lex entered, once in the middle of the street and in the end dancing with Lois at the Homecoming episode when Bug Guy reappears.
