This is absolutely superb. I had the pleasure of reading something similar, and it was absolutely superb. "Rising From Within: Unlocking Your Innate Power to Conquer Adversity" by Vincent Starling

You know the reason I have a fixed mindset, it's because my parents just avoided me from the mistake or didn't make me learn and grow through it and now ir is coming back to me, I am soon going to be 16 years old and I don't know if I can keep a job but I will certainly try and put effort

Emma I don't know if you would read this or not. But you have literally given me back my life. I have dreams and ambitions that i want to chase now. When i was depressed i had no will to live or do anything. And guess what i have unintentionally gained weight because i started eating more when i resolved some of my anxiety. I was underweight and now i eat well and am gaining weight. I didn't even notice it until i stood on a weight machine. Thank you so much for everything that you do 💜

Anxiety and depression can arise due to being in abusive (rape), dangerous (war) or exploited (poverty) situation. I wish the video acknowledged that it’s not just a growth mindset that is something we had wrong with our posture. The societies we live in are dysfunctional and abusive at so many levels. Change has to also happen within social structures / community.

Hi - new to you channel - what would you recommend for youth and teens with panic attacks & pstd?
Seems we cant take mental health for granted - it does require work in these times.

Critical Race Theory is so much fixed mind set. Always blame and define everything from a perspective of color rather than effort.

The VA has PTSD programs that help war veterans with all kinds of emotions, thoughts, and beliefs. I came back from Iraq with PTSD, and went to3 different programs at the VA. Therapy and in a Nutshell would be excellent for veterans with PTSD. Seems like the VA only helps with the surface of emotions but not deep. i still have issues with my anger, I don't have close relationships with friends, not married, and I have too much anger to keep a job. Therapy in a Nutshell just popped up, and I love it!! God is helping many through people like this Lady.

So, if chanhing is possible, why are mental ilnesses considered incurable lifetime chronic diseases? Doesn't matter how far you were able to chage, you will always have a "your brain is broken" diagnosis in your medical records.

Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly. I’m not saying just do a bad job. I’m saying you can’t get better unless you start. Not doing something because of fear of failure is the biggest failure.

I was told by a counselor A few times and I keep reminding myself of it when I get frustrated if things don’t go as I planned or hoped. He said, “God looks at our efforts, not our results.” Meaning; do the best you can in each moment and understand that failures will happen, but keep trying and don’t give up, as in don’t just totally quit. My best on one day might not be as good as my best on another day. Even though this world expects perfect performances all the time, God only asks for our best efforts to do what brings us closer to Him. After all, Heaven is our true and forever home. Everything earthly is just temporary, except Love. True Love is carried and carries us into eternity.

I'm wondering if this is oversimplified. I don't think that life is a binary where you're one thing or another. Right or wrong. Male or female. Black or white. Growth or Fixed. Math is actually a good example. I have spend years trying to learn it, took it in college even when it wasn't required. I tried talking to other people, tutoring, etc. And nothing. I just can't get past a certain point.

In every subject I've had my ups and downs where there were times I believed I could figure it out (and maybe didn't) and times where it just seemed impossible I would get anywhere.

There are things I've tried to learn for about 30 years and made no progress. I believed if I kept working on it, I'd overcome it, that there must be something I was missing and I would finally just figure it out. So I think that there are some things that I can't learn. I do have the thoughts that I'm too stupid to learn it or there's something wrong with me because everyone else can and I don't know why I literally can't. I've felt that way whenever I was stumped and would try again and again. And sometimes I've beaten the dead horse till the bones are dust. It seems that there are things that I truly can't learn. I'm not going to tell people whether or not they can or cannot learn things, that is not for me to say.

There are definitely things that seem "easier", even though I'm putting a lot of work into them and often get frustrated or hit a wall, much like the things that I can't seem to learn. Some things seem easier because it plays to my strengths or personality, though it's not a guarantee that I'll be interested or pursue them. I don't know why I can progress on some things and not others. I am continually growing and learning throughout life, but there are some areas or topics that I just can't get past no matter how hard I try, or how many different ways and angles I attempt, or how may people I talk to to gain insight.

Thank you, this content is very helpful! I love how you reference that telling an artist "you're so talented" is like an invalidation of that artist skill set. Yes, we are gifted with skills such as art, but we have to put in the work of becoming the best stewards we can be of that gift of talent. Otherwise a treasure we are given becomes trashed. There really are always good options to seek for help, you have to be able to do work though. Even a tiny kitten size step of effort is better than no effort made at all.
