Can You Beat Final Fantasy XV with ONLY MAGIC?! Level 1 || No Weapons/Consumables/Techniques/etc!

An interesting rpg challenge that I can think of is: Resonace of Fate, but only using starting weapons.

I just beat this probably around when this was uploaded. It was a ton of fun up until the last few chapters! My biggest complaint is how magic is such a nothing concept in this game... then I find a magic only run...

No joke I wouldn't attempt this many restrictions myself, but I had fun watching your run here, also I won't lie either when I say when I first saw the ending to FFXV I don't know what possessed me as I hardly ever cried at game endings where the protagonist dies, but I was bawling my eyes out, I was sad, and mind you I played the game YEARS after release the last update that came out was the master assassin's cloak for Noctis, and the last DLC was Ardyn's DLC both of which came out after I purchased the game, so that sort of gives a general time frame when I bought it. Also fun story, I was stuck on a side quest that I had to beat 30+ times to get 1 item for another quest, my friend plays the game shortly after I beat it (we originally planned to play synchronized so if he progressed I progressed) he gets to that exact quest and he gets the fucking meat item on his 2nd attempt! I was so unlucky and he rubs it in my face from time to time even now, but we both had good fun. Also I love using the ring on the Adamantoise just to squeeze it to death ever so slowly with death, just so I can make the joke "The mountain straight up vanished!" And no I dislike using the banishment spell, it makes it even more clear it disappears where as death just makes it pop out of existence.

I'm currently doing a "Dark Souls" challenge in ffxv just for fun. It's weird.
Mostly the rules are just no warp striking or airstepping, only 5 heals, downed counts as a death/reset, and only roll dodges.
Wish I could limit my bros so they cant use guns and too much damage, but can only do so much.

Would love to see more Final Fantsy content, especially 10 and 10-2!

This can definitely be done especially with the dlc items and attire, currently building a full crit mage squad with the garuda weapons and limit breaks, cant wait to see the damage output if I get everyone to drop a limit break

Impressive run, especially with all those restrictions! Warp's perfectly fine imo due to being mandatory and it is still magic.
I always thought magic was decent in FFXV with strong AoE damage/environmental effects (besides the cumbersome crafting part of course)

I want a see “can you beat ff15 with only your friends” but their pretty bad when your not doing anything

Games like FFVIII and FFX can be broke down with logistic planificación and grinding, so level 1 runs are a thing, and FFX is probably one of the easiest of the saga if not the easiest of all, but has the worst spell system. And what do you do? Clear the story without attack, without items, without companions and at level 1, with only spells to rely on.

It Hurts me a Lot every time i get to the boat bit, because i remember that they gave us 50% of a really Nice world map.

I just wish this game was finished properly, because theres some parts that just dont match, maps that dont exist, characters that simply vanish from the story... sad to see such a great game dont get the polish it needed

I don't think warping counts as failing because technically you are using some sort of magic to a degree so I think the run is just fine if anything you made it harder buy not doing it

I know is not original, but I buy this game just to reply this challenger- it's just to fun to watch

This is my first time seeing any FF15 content, so...this should be interesting.

I've played through this game 3 times and don't think I've ever used magic

the only magic thing about it is the ore. honestly its not casting magic, its just throwing grenades. the WEAPONS have more magic to them then that... i mean i still love the game but what the hell...

Personally I don't feel the run is over if the game forces one of the rules to be broken and there is no way to circumvent it. As long as the challenge was reasonable to begin with, that is. If you start a FF XV challenge run where you're not supposed to collect any royal arms- for example- the run is moot because that's just not possible. You're not doing a challenge run at that point, you're just playing the game normally. If you were to limit or completely bar the use of royal arms instead however then that would be a totally valid run.

Seeing this playthrough I can't forget to mention that on my run back in 2017 Prompto got stuck underground for half of the game, which was very funny cause he woulp pop out of the ground to perform his team attack then get immediately sucked back into the earth 😭😭😭

This feels true turn based, like the old FFXIII / X and below. Fun way to play FFXV. 😮FYI I didnt like FFXV still waiting for Versus XIII.

FF15 is pretty good. I always watch Kingsglaive before I play it again.
I really wish they let got to release all the planned DLCs and all the stories were full.

It's a shame bc the magic in this game does actually look so insanely cool, and the crafting to get multi casts with enemy drops is a cool concept. there was just too many hoops, you didn't get nearly enough casts for your effort, oh and yeah it didn't do enough damage, they obviously added the Duscaen Oranges as a peace offering.

I think I honestly forgot magic was even in Final Fantasy 15 during my first playthrough.

I vaguely remember absorbing the magic from the crystals early on and then tossing the whole system out the window almost immediately due to how useless it was. I thought it was just a plot thing for much of my playtime.

EDIT: Wait why does Dave the hunter have a magic flask? Aren't Noctis's family the only people in this world that can use magic?
