But then there is the archon splash art (fontaine behind her) and the 100% uptime. So yes, it really is weird. Like parts of her design hints towards an archon and other parts hints towards a normal character. And because of this, I will treat the playable character as an archon.

Now if I think about it, thats what furina actually is (Furina (human) + focalors (divinity) = one Person). So it all makes sense.

Well we guessed that from her first appearance it isn't really a spoiler since as soon as she appears she acts very over top and has little bits where she gets confused or stumbles her words it wasn't hard to guess that furina wasn't an archon

Nuivellete basically became the archon, when he went god mode and gifted Furina a vision

Focalors specifically said "live happily as a human". Focalors stripped her of her "archon" status and made her 100% human.
It wouldn't be a self-sacrifice if half of you stays alive.

Its like if Ei died but Raiden stayed alive. She's just a puppet for the archon to use. Once the archon is gone, the puppet is just a puppet. In this case Focalors was the archon, and Furina the human counterpart. With the archon now dead, she's not just a human now. Fontaine is and will stay officially archon-less for the rest of its existence.

(I haven't played any of fontain yet, still in the beginning of sumeru, so please correct me if I'm wrong) does that mean that we will never get to play the hydro archon?
