What a great review. I have the blues junior 4. What a great guidelines
ОтветитьCan this amp overpower drums? I like it, and I'm thinking about buying it (more precisely Tweed lacquered), but I don't know is it right choice for playing along with drums.
ОтветитьCory is right - Blues Jr Mk IVs are fabulous amps ! Fender (I'm a stone Fender tele/strat player) REALLY know what they are doing !!!
ОтветитьPicked one up this week… stoked to come across your great review!
ОтветитьNo mic? You recorded into the OX box?
ОтветитьI know it's totally a matter of everyone's individual taste. After 35 years of playing guitar. Using all types and size of amps. I find the blues jr my favorite amp of all time. I would say as deluxe with the 2 channel but with a blues pedal you get the same as if you had a2 channel amp. And it's a few hundred lower in cost even with a pedal or 2. Love it.
ОтветитьThank you for the 'Main Water Valve' explanation. Now I freaking get it. I couldn't get a sound of my Stage Right/Monoprice 15W Tube Amp I liked and I am just playing blues. I guess I don't need a blues Jr. Thanks!
ОтветитьTotally AWESOME video packed full of useful & usable tips.. The playing and tones you got were killer.. A new fan here buddy and subd too. Keep up the fab work.. now im gonna relax and cream up on all your other vids too!
ОтветитьUsas un atenuador que es más caro que el Blues Junior???
No me parece honesto
Love it!
ОтветитьHi I remember you making videos for Martin guitar company. Thanks alot for this one. I like your electric as well as acoustic playing
ОтветитьWow, Stevie Ray is back! Great playing Corey! Sweet little amp!
ОтветитьGreat video. I’ve been playing through a Blues Junior for over 10 years but have always relied on my pedals to get my sound. I’m looking forward to trying out these settings. Thank you for this.
ОтветитьI really appreciate you going with mic'ing the room instead of the amp. Which gives the sound of the amp and
not the PA. But I do not understand how you are getting such quality lows without cranking the bass. I have a
B Jr IV and a BDRI. Both modded with the 70s Fender Tone Stack before they went to the Marshal Tone Stack.
Incredible original full Fender Sparkle and Compression. Lowered the Brite Cap on the DBJI and also the B Jr
with the addition of a Brite Switch. But I always have to push the bass up. I guess that's just me. But when
I worked the Studios I was always being told to bring the bass up so they could adjust it in the booth.?????
I have a Vox AC 15 and setting that Master to max and adjusting the pre as necessary turns it into a different animal. Great Trick :D
ОтветитьI have the Blues Junior several years and I ve never tried to set the Master Volume to maximum. Today I've tried it. In my opinion, it doesn't sound best in this setting. Maybe my Amp seems to get in the overdrive a little bit later, than in your demonstration?! I m not sure if there are slightly different models with different tubes out in the market. Maybe it works if you use pedals in front of the amp. But on its own, I think the sound is best when you set the master to 4-5 and the volume to 4-5. When you add the booster, it starts to distort slowly. But of course this is a matter of taste and a question of what other ground effects you use. Unfortunately, the amp has no loop-in path, so it is very rudimentary, but it does its job.
ОтветитьWhat are your thoughts on the C Rex speaker vs the Red White Blue? The latter has more bottom end to my ears, the C Rex a bit more mid/upper-mid heavy.
ОтветитьNot a blues fan. It’s all the same. Boring 😴💤
ОтветитьGreat video and discussion on overall tone sculpting. I have a question for you, though: On a two-channel amp that has a master volume and individual volume and gain controls for each channel, how might you approach achieving similar results to the Blues Jr? Would you use the two-channel amp's channel volume control like you're using the Blues Jrs Master volume, and the gain control like the Blues Jrs volume control, and then use the overall master volume almost like an attenuator? Or would you still crank the master volume and use the channel volume and gain in conjunction with one another?
Anyway, Hope that makes sense! Thanks, Corey!
que genial !!!
Ответитьwow.. smokin' dude.. came for the amp.. jaw dropped for the sweet chops..
ОтветитьI've got one in my sweatwater basket but I'm curious how it handles distortion pedals?
ОтветитьJust looking at the Tolex on your B.Jr. Is that a Sweetwater model?
ОтветитьThank you for playing a strat style guitar with this amp instead of just a tele like everyone else does.
Ответитьis the speaker mic'ed ?
ОтветитьGreat tones and great demo, Corey! I own Blues Junior, many thanks for helping me figure out the settings of the amplifier
ОтветитьWhich Paul Reed Smith strategy playing one from Indonesia or the real deal is that just straight amp are you using a fax with it using effects I would like to buy that same app for practice at the house
ОтветитьYou got to show me which pedals you're using cuz mine sucks I can't get the blues Junior to sound like that what speakers in that Blues Junior got a lot to do with it the PBR Strat sounds good with that app I've listened to a lot of demos and so far yours is good you don't have that muddy sound or boxy sound you getting a real good tone are you using any paddles
ОтветитьDUDE THAT INTRO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MY! WOW! Love MY Blues JR.
ОтветитьHow was this recorded? Room mic only? Sounds pretty in your face. Maybe it's going into a speaker load box?
ОтветитьHi there Corey, having a Blues Junior LTD Tweed with a Jensen speaker, do you think it’s an upgrade to change the speaker to a Cannabis Rex?
Love your channel by the way!
HI Corey, looking to but an amp, bedroom player, would you recommend for 1200 or less, thanks
ОтветитьIt would be a great little amp if Fender would respect their costumers by using a few more cents on the PCB design, filter caps, off the board pots n´jack and the right Bias settings ! This amp has been on the marked for 20+ years, and they still piss on the costumers! (I still have mine, but damn, I wouldn't buy one if I knew how much work that had to be done on the thing) Still it's loud :) and after 20 years, I guess It's just a part of the family
ОтветитьWhat model speaker
ОтветитьI have the same Blues Junior. With the western toolX finish .Cannabis Rex speaker. Fantastic amp. I love mine.
ОтветитьGreat video and explanation. I have a first gen junior from 1998. I had to replace some tubes and eventually swapped out the speaker for an eminence Red White and Blues. Great, reliable amp.
ОтветитьFirst time I see someone explaining how to dial a Blues Jr the right way.
ОтветитьI just ordered this amp and I really can’t thank you enough for this awesome work !!
ОтветитьGreat Demo!
ОтветитьHey Corey, great video! I just got a blues Jr yesterday and am pretty excited to try it out. Out of all the videos I've watched on this amp, you definitely make it sound the best. A lot of the tone comes from the fingers. Thank you for all the great tips!
ОтветитьHaha I went down that Blues Junior rabbit hole a few times. Now you got me thinking again. Please make it stop.
ОтветитьThanks for the video! I just picked up the IV with the A-type Celestian. What overdrive pedal do you recommend? These single channel amps are picky in the OD department.
ОтветитьIf you can't get a blues Junior to work for ya??? You don't belong near a guitar.
ОтветитьHahaha rich white people thinking they relevant to the blues, and then the sex faces hahahaha
ОтветитьWhat about people who hate the boomer blues noise ,
ОтветитьAbsolutely Love your Blues JR Videos...... I can't get enough of them. Their is just about nothing that you cant accomplish with this amp. and if needed. just add a delay pedal and or a blues Boss BD2 that is truely all you need that makes it like you had a channel switching Deluxe amp... at a few hundred less in price.
ОтветитьMan... that PRS is an abomination! They are fugly! Great tone on the amp though brother.
ОтветитьI just subscribed due to the first 15 seconds giving me the, "guhhh, it's so good " face!
ОтветитьWicked cool explanation of the volume & master knobs.. Cheers
