Had to choke my wife & kids to sleep, couldn’t hear John talk 😅
ОтветитьIf you have no flexibility or mobility your guard retention will likely be trash
Ответить"legs are always exposed"
me: "not in a turtle position"
also me: "I'm so smart"
I would like to see a john danaher vid with bernardo asking questions. I think some of the vids with bernardo are better than the instructionals
ОтветитьThe six elements:
1. Close distance
2. Establish grips
3. Get angle
4. Level change
5. Expose torso
6. Pin (head/shoulders to mat)
All the fancy bjj guard moves were judo first though. Maybe not the methodologies and names but they def had involved guards, olympic judo just pushed them out of popularity
Ответить11nth minute. Talking about guard retention really opened my eyes.
ОтветитьI have a lot of these new school guard retention vids. They are heavy on important theory which is great if you are deep in to jiujitsu. But they dont give you simple repeatable live drills to do to train all the movements so i had to build them myself. Instuctionals now fall into two categories. Theory or technique. But they lack the nuts and bolts drills to bring the theory into practice.
ОтветитьOmg i have had a major break from the sport (7years) and recently restarted. Catching up with top competitors and seeing a young Craig Jones as a Giles demonstration partner says miles about him as a teacher, as well as giving excellent advices on defeating very stubborn player that play butterfly/ knee shield game in practice.
ОтветитьI wish i could hear what john was saying
ОтветитьI'm sure I saw John Danaher wearing a Jungle fightwear rashguard at a seminar last summer. I HAVE to see him do the animal combat talk in one of these
ОтветитьThis is a great 30 minute video that could be done in 5 minutes. I really appreciate the free content, thank you.
ОтветитьAwesome details and logic !
ОтветитьWe can’t heaaar 😭😭😭
Ответить🤙🏼🦾👊🏼
ОтветитьDANAHER SHOULD STOP YELLING
ОтветитьI love the videos, but you guys really need to pull the microphone out of the ass and increase sound-ouput by 300%.
ОтветитьHe liked to talk himself
ОтветитьIt’s taken me a long time to get good at guard retention. I’ve always been fairly good at imposing my will upon people, which means I’m usually in top position. I literally had to resort to pulling guard just to get some practice from guard. It definitely would have been nice to start out with a focus on guard retention so I could master that first. It makes such a huge difference in the rest of your game.
Ответить3 other reasons: Leg locks have also a fast setup, less stacking defense possible preoccupied by turning away, and less dexterity then arms....
Ответить“Huge Honor for me 😃” shirt please 🥹
ОтветитьOh John gonna speak, time to raise the volume to 100.
ОтветитьAmazing video. He is a master splinter of BJJ
ОтветитьFear the man who whispers in conversations, great power he holds.
ОтветитьJohn 'Leg Lock' Danaher
ОтветитьBjj fanatics you guys need mics !
ОтветитьSo smooth
Ответитьthis video MUST be watched again & again, and again...
ОтветитьI always get startled from the audio at the end asking for subscriptions. The volume is always much louder than in the instruction!
ОтветитьBrilliant instructor!
Ответить"The Knowledge Denier Model" 😂 he makes it sound like a university class
ОтветитьI love these videos thanks for giving back and sharing your knowledge guys!!
ОтветитьJohn just give the best detailed explanation. I had to go back to his videos to understand and look for the smallest critical details.
ОтветитьWas I only person heard him say leg lock defense technology I think he meant say techniques but lol 😆 was just curious if I'm hearing things. Lol I agree but my case because I can Frog sit it makes hard people get unseet or elevate my legs if I Frog sit I'm unusual in that I can sit with all my weight like a Frog legs flat to ground
ОтветитьThanks for another great learning video! 👀👍
ОтветитьJohn always speaks like he's inside a library.
ОтветитьThe three stages of the infamous male pattern baldness
ОтветитьJDs the man getting indepth with his technique and insight always makes me want to get on the mat
ОтветитьBro, this audio is just fucky enough that it felt like the sound wasn't coming from my headphones, but rather coming from the speaker, and it had me panic pause and check my headphones. Lmao
ОтветитьHow attack the legs when the other guy is passing like Bernardo, with his over under pass style?
ОтветитьBrilliant!!
ОтветитьYou need to get a better MIC set up. Sound quality is not good, can't hear John clearly.
ОтветитьI don't understand how you cant realize the volume discrepancy! Annoying really!
ОтветитьBernardo is too loud or Danaher is too quiet. If I get my volume where Bernardo is screaming then I cant hear Danaher at all.
ОтветитьMATRIX 🤣👍
