I like the nostalgic feel of Vinyl records, reminds me of times i was born too late to truly experience. Digital with added vinyl scratches are OK. but i want either the Cleanness of the Digital. or the Scratchy, and subtle differences of vinyl records. especially if im just sitting in the Living Room with my buds with a poker game on the table, listening to old records

ОтветитьI can't exactly ignore the apple 2. Still waiting for a vid
Ответитьyeah vinyl sounds great and all...if you're willing to spend a thousand bucks. I've always been a vintage fan and appreciated the old handmade quality stuff more than todays non repairable plastic. When people say things like "Vinyl sound so much better" they are either lying OR they own a 500 dollar turn table and another 500 dollar amp and then you barely notice a difference while spending countless hours setting everything up perfectly.
vinyl is for 2 different people, those who can appreciate the hand craftmanship and art in vintage sound engineering and those who want to min max their sound quality while being able to say "i made this sound".
I learned this the hard way. good vinyl sound quality takes a lot of effort.
I want to watch that Muose show
Ответитьthats it, Im getting one of these
Ответитьit's been a year i hope you have discovered more music through vinyl! best way to experience a new album imo:)
ОтветитьThe wild thing is, figuring in inflation, even independent vinyl is actually cheaper than albums were in the 80s.
ОтветитьThat's the best thing about vinyl. I usually end up listening to the entire album. When I sit on my PC I hand pick songs and it's just not the same.
ОтветитьIt seems pretty similar to making fancy coffee, Its not necessarily better, it just provides a more unique experience.
ОтветитьIt may sounds dumb or pretentious, but alone the act getting the Album out of the shelf and the disc on the Turntablet. carefully placing the needle and hearing the warm hiss just makes Something with me. It puts me in another Mindstate where i can appreciate music much more. I also only buy Album i know i want to Experiment in that way. And i want to own that record no matter which streaming service i'm subscribed to.
ОтветитьSpotify in Future needs an VR Mode where you can dig in some crates and Play Vinyl in Turn Tables hahaha. 😅
Ответитьdo another vinyl vid this one was amazing
Ответитьi get it. i dont do vinyl but just the idea of a straight analog path from media to ears does sound nice.
idk. i guess i like big things. like i like my desktop with a big case and lots of expansion. i honestly got into disk ripping instead of pirating roms like everyone else cuz like i wanted to be able to play with optical drives which ive always thought were interesting but never got to play with as a zoomer. and like whoa my pc can rip wii games. like this is why i find usb boring. like its all jsut one cable. we used to have all sorts of stuff like ps2 and serial and parallel and scsi and different firewires and esata and different looking thunderbolt and tons of sony proprietary memory cards and all sorts of mini ports. but now its all usb and every standard tryna be faster than usb failed. idk i never got into the signaling and learning how to do projects with it so like its a waste tbh
What gets me about Vinyls is that it's an uninterrupted, unmistakable experience. A full album, a fully choreographed experience, as it was intended.
It's like reading a book, watching a movie, seeing a story unfold. It feels like the raw, most bare experience you can have with the music you love.
I just bought Muse Absolution Album! That one is Dammmmmmmn goood!
ОтветитьThat turntable is stupidly over-minimalistic (if that's even a word.) I'd get a vintage turntable on eBay for ~$600, which is, like, half the price of that one.
ОтветитьYou know he's a man of culture, he has Songs for the Deaf on vinyl!
Ответитьyou should release your own vinyl record with scarlett fire
Ответитьcan we go back to the apple II
ОтветитьIS THAT A MUSE RECORD.
ОтветитьI didn’t watch the whole video but you showed MUSE and one of its best albums you get instant like and sub
ОтветитьWhats next? reel to reel?
ОтветитьELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA?! I KNEW I LOVED YOU FOR A REASON!!!
Ответитьlisten to vinyl with airpods !!!!!
Ответитьthe system of a down self titled album!! yes
ОтветитьIf youve got a good setup, it 100% sounds better than digital.
ОтветитьVinyl sounds better... It's a real, healing, colorful sound!. It's a sound you Feel
ОтветитьYoooooo it's elo
ОтветитьWell. I got a sterio system for playing vinyl, cd, cassette, usb and all that for 180 dollars with built in speakers. And dont you tell me it isn't quality😊
Ответитьthis video made me consider collecting vinyl way back when it first came out.
a few weeks ago, I started buying vinyl records of a few of my favourite albums and even got a simple setup with an ATLP60XUSB and some decent, affordable speakers.
do they sound as good as digital? hell no. my record player actually spins slightly faster than it should, making everything sound a little bit sped up and higher pitched than it should be (I'll adjust it eventually I'm just too lazy to right now) also, vinyls are a pain in the ass to care for, any speck of dust and it skips or makes weird static-y noises. and you gotta handle everything with care in case you scratch the disc or break the needle or anything of the sort. plus, I'm a perfectionist who wants to keep everything in as pristine condition as I can for as long as I can so I invest in things like anti static inner sleeves for the discs and plastic outer sleeves for the jacket.
but despite all those flaws, I'm still gonna collect vinyl. heck, I'm even more invested in collecting vinyl now that I have my setup and a few albums I enjoy. I find myself wanting to get my hands on more albums and I really enjoying the process of unboxing and sleeving up new vinyls and just being able to set down a record, clean it, and let it play front to back. it's a sort of calming and nice ritual and especially enjoyable after a long and stressful day.
would booting up spotify be easier? yeah, but it's not the same as taking the time to set down a record and watch it spin. glad I got into this hobby
While I don't disagree with the sentiments of this video, I think that using a $15 generic ATN3600 cartridge on a $3k turntable setup and then making conclusions about the sound quality is strange. That's the same cartridge that's on the LP60 shown in the video!
ОтветитьIf copium was a video.
ОтветитьThe phono cartridge is cheap and is easily beaten by a Nagaoka MP-200 or something, which is gonna give you much better bass and treble response
Ответитьbut... but Wade.... I want to talk about the Apple II...
ОтветитьI don't like rpress vinyl all analog all the way original master tapes sound fantastic
ОтветитьTo me, the most special thing about phonograph records is the fact that you pretty much have a device which can play music of any era of recorded music.
If you get a nice 3-speed record player/turntable with speed adjustment or pitch control, you bet you're set for getting to listen to original records from any year since the 1890s. It's mind-blowing the thought of changing between an original big band record from the 1920s to a contemporary record on the same device.
Digital audio is good, especially FLAC. Vinyl is good cause it is pretty well mastered, but it is a bit softer, and warmer than digital. CD imo is the best way to listen to music. HQ digital is good, but compared to a CD? The CD is slightly better. I swear. CD is my prefered way of collecting music. I listen to the digital first, and if I like it, I buy it on CD. Cause like I said, I swear CD is better. I heard it is entirely lossless. But I am still unsure, after listening too a digital flac, then going and listening to it on CD I am pretty sure the CD is better. But then again, it could just my personal preference. One thing I know for sure is, I love CDs for the ability to actually physically own my music. Not to mention they are easier to take care of and last way longer than vinyl, and of course they sound better. I still collect Vinyl for stuff that was exclusively released on Vinyl. But if I can I prefer CD, as CDs sound better, last longer, require less effort to maintain and take care of, and of course CDs are often cheaper.
Ответитьdank pods listening to queens of the Stone Age made me happy
Ответитьvinyl FTW
ОтветитьI am so happy you included Bowie
ОтветитьThis dude spent $3,500+ just to listen to vinyl. I bought a U-Turn Orbit, which has the same belt-drive setup, for like $300 USD a few years ago and I got a cheap phono pre-amp and some decent speakers, all for less than $500
ОтветитьWhy are we staring at the bottom of his iPad for most of this video...?
Ответитьbro has amazing taste in music
