SurrounDead - The $15 Zombie Survival Game That's Not Bad

DayZ melee is actually pretty good once you learn it. There are uppercuts,overhands,running power attacks. That's with fists. Melee weapons are pretty decent these days. With singe handed bladed weapons you can stealth attack zombies and one shot them. DayZ's engine is old and it's got some jank. Other than the occasional glitchy shenanigans I absolutely love DayZ. There's nothing else like it. It's so realistic, and the possibilities are nearly endless. Surroundead caught my eye because sometimes I crave a game like DayZ, but single player.

The game got good ammount of updates till now Glock, if you stil linterested please do another vid of it.
Tho it still needs polish, bug fixing, UI and general improvement.
Dev working on multiplayer option for the next update.

I've become to notice that a lot of these $15 indie games are actually amazing works of talent and have a ton of potential. Battlebit Remastered & Surroundead are both great in their own way. Surroundead I find to be very beautiful with its artstyle. All it really needs is more optimization for the midrange cards. I was pretty shocked that my RTX 3060TI was dropping from 144 to 80fps once I encountered a scavenger that was shooting at zombies.

The game is funny but probably after 1 hour and a half the gameplay becomes repetitive.

The game needs coop

This game is surprisingly good. While it could be considered an asset-flip, it is well thought out, engaging, and rather beautiful at times. It still needs work in certain areas but with regular updates and good communication from the devs it will only get better with time. When the game is finished I think it will be loved by many.

Since the updates, you should revisit this man.

DO NOT BUY this is a piece of shit game its cool looking and you think maybe BUT DONT if you have to try it download it for free it is games like this that make me glad i do not buy games first ALWAYS download and try for free any game it is how we the consumer force a better standard If it is playable (this isnt) then buy. This is more buggy than original dayz mod it is SHIT you will randomly take damage on some surfaces you will have to reload saves constantly not because game is hard but because of bugs my favorite been the your mouse no longer clicks the only way i ever even died was to bugs so not only is it repetitive and boring its buggy unfinished and if i had paid for it i would have refunded through steam DONT WASTE YOUR TIME

The game got a big update recently with AI and the airfield area being added in!

Putting it on standard steps up the difficulty pretty good. Items are hard to find. I enjoy it on the passive level.

So glad you covered this, I’ve been following it for months and have put a lot of feedback into it’s development I was actually one of the first few to recommend a notification for airdrops coming in and it was added as a toggleable option which was even better for more choice to players. He’s adding the first version of skill trees, and bandit ai next update and before a month or two again he was churning out updates pretty frequently but the past few updates have been a big beefier than the past ones. Hope you decide to cover it again deadpoly is another good one to look into it’s a more PvP centered version of this one which is pve centered.
