Having the opportunity to visit most of the countries in Europe and Poland as well, I would not consider that country to be any worse off than Austria, Hungary, Czech- Slovakia or Switzerland and others as being land locked. Poland does have access to the Baltic at the seaport at Gdansk. but from a foreign aggression aspect , they could not be in much of a worse location than Poland is.

Growing up in the Midwest .. Minnesota… born in early 1970’s .. all our elementary school jokes were about the the dumb polish (pillocks.. polelocks) … I always felt bad and wondered why ..
this is why .. our parents and grandparents and their parents of Scandinavian, Russian and German descent all were at odds and at war with them for centuries…

I have read before about Poland as it is now some of it consists of what was eastern Germany before but is not now then of course. Also as you explain here, what was the eastern part of it later became the Soviet Union/USSR which is now either Belarus or Ukraine; or indeed the Baltic states if not. Well done so then too.

As a Korean, I deeply sympathize with the Polish. We’ve also been invaded and attacked countless of times in history, and like Poland, we literally just disappeared for a while. Despite that, both of our nations are still here, looking into a better future. Best wishes for my Polish friends :).
