I often wonder how much do these actually cost to make. The materials aren’t that much, and the engineering doesn’t seem that hard. We have known have mechanical watches for century.

The little parts are made in a machine, only time consuming parts seems to be the assembly.

A lot of manufacturers don't send you watches in their boxes. They send you a package with the watches in these cheap boxes. And another parcel is gonna have the real boxes in it. The only reason people buy them from dealers in this cheap packaging is that it adds value to the watch. If this cardboard box has never been open for example, it's called a double seal.
