Great video. I especially liked your examples of how to implement active recall. I find your videos to be much more helpful to develop good study techniques than Justins Sungs's as his videos are kind of vague sometimes.

I'll come back and like the video if any of these study techniques help me😅.

I have a phd. entrance exam next month, and i have been studying with the old style reading as you explained at the beginning of the video. Exactly same methods and i was wonder why im not learning although i have been studying much enough n i remember since my childhood i had problem with studying and learning and during exam time crying was part of my studying routine. So today, i felt hopeless that idk what i should do for my enterance exam in next month. Since evening, i have been looking for methods and other ways, and luckily i came across your video and am going to start in the morning. Next month on the 4th of October I have an exam when the result comes i will let you know here. 14th sep 2023 at 10:33 pm

OK so let this be the first video of the many in the future where I implement this method.
SO the rereading, highlighting and taking notes during lecture(watching videos) does not help in improving studying. Best method (evidence based) is active recall where you write everything from your head after the lecture is done, cards(ANKI app), taking notes in the form of the questions which you answer later (spaced repetition). cheers

i stopped taking/making notes during my associates cuz, i study the most the night before the exam (crunch) and writing and summarizing all of those notes took so much time that i just ended up opting for reading the material and writing questions based off what i read. that single technique made me pass classes i never even attended
