All this history, and for what? So some foreigners can come on by, take over, and call it their land instead? Modern Australians are blind. Protect our culture at all costs, it's already going down the bin with Asians, Islamic immigrants and Africans.

I think you will find that it was a failed Dutch Colony first. I have found maps identifying the circumnavigation and naming of ports for Australia dated 1602. Is there also a coincidence that the Dutch Borse collapsed just a year before the rights to colonise was SOLD (yes money changed hands) to the British?. I think not and there is also a 250 year absence of information before the British colonised.

Continents formed collided and then separated. Millions of years of peaceful land scape with cool flora and fauna. Eventually some chill dark-skinned people showed up. Then some not so chill white-skinned people showed up. Later on some more chill dark-skinned people wanted to show up but the whites are stingy and spiteful

The first concrete application of the name Australia corresponds to the Spanish expedition of the Portuguese Pedro Fernández de Quirós, who discovered the archipelago of the New Hebrides (present-day Vanuatu) in 1606, whose largest island was called "Australia (sic) del Espíritu Santo",[22][23] a name that Quirós himself chose in reference to the feast of the Holy Spirit and, to a lesser extent, to the House of Austria (Austria with the suffix "-lia"), to which the Spanish monarch belonged.[23

Terra Australis Incognito, known or named by the Romans. The knew the land existed, the Egyptians had is documented and mapped. When Egypt was ransacked by the Romans, they called it Terra Australis Incognito because they had never been there and at the time had no seafaring vessels to reach the lands that the Egyptians had thousands of years before Rome even existed.

new to the channel and have to say this was a pretty good video. You gave time to pre-colonial Australia than most history books or even Australians know, and that's important. It does need to be said that diseases were spread on purpose, and the stolen generation was a brutal policy that was instituted as a part of the (ongoing) Australian genocide. We need to start being more honest about that stuff. Amends have not been made. Looking forward to checking more of your content.

As a Dutchman that lived in Australia for 14 years, I learned about Japanese mini subs entering Sydney harbour during WW2. Thought that perhaps that was worth a mention in this history doc.
Otherwise an informative 43 mins.

I want to say sorry to the indeginous fellas. Unfortunately we were settled by the British. Unlike, New zealand. Settled by the dutch. Whom learnt very quickly to treat the maori with respect rather than weapons and death. As such, you can see the difference within. Relations between white and the indigeous populations in the 2 countries are polar opposites.
Please dont say Europeans it was the British.
