How to write a personal essay

So say the topic is about my heritage or cultural experiences etc. Would I have to write about a different specific event in each paragraph? (while still staying true to the thesis statement, of course)

Btw I’m in grade 11. I have a 700 word essay to write on my culture. I come from two very different families, one being all Muslim like me, and one being all Christian so I’m a bit lost. Just trying to get a head start :)
