I grew up in the area, smack between Mount Hope and Fayetteville where the majority of the scenes were shot. It’s a dark story to tell, a story that no one speaks of. Hopefully this sheds some light on the matter and things can change.

But as you listen to the folks, it’s also a story of hope. There’s some people out there fighting their own demons while helping others fight theirs. People helping their community, no matter how little they think they have to give is what I remember about that area.

Everyone will learn soon - RX opioids are no longer prescrbed when needed after surgery or unrelenting pain. Patients have been medically abandoned and some are going to the streets out of deperation. If youve got a medical condition that causes pain, you are shit out of luck. However, illicit fentanyl is everywhere

Instead of making a mountain out of the mole hill amount of fatalities from prescribed medication let’s take a look at the real mountain of bodies from alcohol related deaths and murders!

I’m a recovering addict who lost my babygirl (on the left in my picture) to those greedy pill making vultures. I ain’t from the the mountain……but I am today. Right on Brad…..Right on man.

My husband lived in Charleston WV and a suburb of Charleston in the early 2000s before we met. His dr prescribed him pain pills and he got addicted. He went to street meds and got himself clean cold turkey. All without sharing a word to anyone about his struggles. He lost a friend to an overdose after the friend relapsed. My husband is now 12 years sober.
I've lost a cousin and 4 friends to overdoses. Most were in their 20s. I'm 3 years sober and know how the struggle is real. Rest in peace to all those who got lost somewhere along the way. ❤

I am from Hannover, Germany. I do not understand every word in the lyrics, but the music, the melody and the video is absolutely emotional and speaks for itself.

Just a guess but I am willing to bet if we dismantled this corrupt government and started a new with blue collar folks that wants the best future for their grandchildren we could have this country turned around in less than a month. I'm ready to try it the old way because the new way isn't working!

Tried it all and it all almost killed me,,, surgeries etc.
Minnesota medical cannabis is what saved me four years ago I was able to get off Vicodin for my chronic pain. I live in Wisconsin now and I’m waiting on them to legalize it but the Delta farm grade is great,it helps.

Well if that song doesn't rip your heart out, nothing ever will. I lost my son at 30 to a drug overdose, his last words to me were "I'll see you when I see you in heaven". I know he's with God but hell had him here. The drug epidemic will kill a lot more and for those left behind, it is hell here on earth.

I grew up until graduation @ 18 in Logan, West Virginia. I still have an Aunt tht resided there. I am HAPPY to stay, DRUGS have NEVER touched my family!

Wish this could be a Nationwide emergency alert sent to every cellphone in America. It is a strong message that gets you in the head and gut and heart and soul. I have been there over a stupid carwreck caused from drinking and driving country roads. That was when I first was introduced two pain meds. At first I really didn't like them and made me nauseous then I lost my daddy at an early age and started on prescription Xanax to help with my stress and anxiety. 21 years later I guit taking them all because I lost who I really was. The woman in the mirror was numb . I have lost friends to OD. The fear of God and mommy and daddy watching from above really started haunting me. The mind is a powerful thing and it can be used as good bad or ugly. I still struggle with this crazy world but putting God first and wanting to live life to its fullest is what I truly want. JUST SAY NO. GOD BLESS ALL these peoples and families.

In this year alone more than the amount of opioid deaths from the last 20 years.

I have seen this first hand with the mission work our church does each summer with "Appalachia Service Project". 37 years now our church has been helping to make families "warmer, safer, and drier" in Central Appalachia. We see and hear these stories 1st hand each year and it is just getting worse. I am in tears watching this video because he is speaking the truth. Our Country has totally abandoned this area and left these people to suffer with no resources to help them. There are several Counties in WV that have extremely high addiction numbers (alcohol & drugs) and yet there is not A SINGLE TREATMENT CENTER in those Counties.
