This week yk is talking about the sixth book in her "Walkerville Desires" series, "Renaissance." Central to this story is the Miyoshi family, who have farmed in the valley since early in the 20th Century.

Regardless of their history or citizenship status, all West Coast residents of Japanese ancestry were uprooted from their hopes and shipped away to internment camps during WWII. As was the case for most Japanese-American families, the forced relocation left scars and family secrets that persisted for generations.

Tonight yk takes a look at how those scars continue to impact the central characters of this story decades on. It's not "what the book is ABOUT," but it is a fact of life which continues to affect those at the center of "Renaissance," individuals not yet born when the war ended.
