Dragonlord Placidusax's site of grace is already unlocked for me and I haven't even burned the Erdtree yet. Do you think it would mess anything up if I kill Placidusax or explore the rest of the Farum Azula (without killing Maliketh) before burning the Erdtree?

After three long days, here am I continuing with the guide after Malenia kicked my a** and I finally kicked hers

My Malenia strat: Bloodhound's Fang sword, Mimic Tear ashes. She bleeds easily.

Anyone just coming to play in 2024(like myself) really need to watch this guide its been such a big help. Also anyone stuck on Malenia just slap on rivers of blood, stack arcane and use the lord of blood talisman.

Unendurable frenzy

Woot! My first playthrough took me 7 tries to kill melania, this time, got her on 2nd try, using bhound fang, mimic tear, we basically stun locked her, I'm pretty tanky to begin with so mimic tear kept her distracted the entire fight and we just ganged up on her lol. I've been playing for a few hours n got to her fight n was gonna call it a night but figured meh, maybe I'll beat her real quick. Turns out I did. It's insulting that people still say she's hardest boss ever. Yea if I was level 60 n didn't use spirit summon, I'd literally die of old age before I beat her. But that's for the hardcore challenge enthusiasts. I just made sure I was about level 200 and utilized all the tools and tactics at my disposal. Most games don't have a single difficulty where you can power up your character so far that the toughest bosses are more of a midling challenge. Wanna try a real hardest boss ever That requires MASTER level skulls at dodging/parrying? God of war 2016, valkyrie queen on hardest difficulty. After 75 attempts I gave up. Only boss fight in a video game in my entire life, I'm 35 been playing games since I was a 4 or 5. That's the only game boss I've given up on n walked away from.

Just beat Malenia. That was a brick wall. Had to use a mimic +10 armed with shield and shabriri woe talismans. With the blasphemous blade + 10 and still had a tough time.

I'm doing this on ng+6 I've done evert quest so far and I'm about to lose my mind and start tweaking off the yerkys

Do you burn the erdtree before getting rid of the frenzied flame?

A good cheese tactic for the Bell Bearing Hunter at the Isolated Merchants Shack. Summon him in. Then use Torrent to climb onto the roof of the shack. Then just ranged attack him. He cant touch you

he keeps saying “dont kill the npc incase they’re in future expansions” i dont think any souls like game has dlc that extents an npc quest or relevance, but that doesn’t stop us from hoping 😢

For the Melina Boss Fight;
I equipped Great Star Mace with Prayerful Strike in right hand and 2nd Great Stars mace with Hoarfrost Stomp (for the frostbite) in my left, both at +24 i think
slotted most of my healing and buffing spells & items (mimic likes to drop warming stones to heal both of you which is helpful)
Equipped Great-Jars Arsenal, Blessed Dew Talisman, Erdtree's Favor +1, and DragonCrest Greast Shield Talisman

Then I used the Mimic Tear summon
quickly Reequipped my goto gear = Icon Shield (for the passive healing) & Blasphemous Blade +10
and we both wailed on her, stunning her as much as we could, after about a dozen tries, we beat her.
still hard but my mimic was near invincible, sadly most of her hits on him healed her so she kinda was also, but we knocked her down so much it didnt save her in the end.

No cheese necessary! Did it the old fashion way! Earned it!🥵🥵🥵

As part of the decision whether or not to save Melina, it would be great to know what the benefit of saving her is like you so awesomely do with other decisions. From what I can tell, there is no item reward nor dialogue for having saved Melina and also prevented the Frenzy Flame ending. If that was explained in the video, I would be confident of that info.

I just beat malenia no summons no bloodhound step. It took me 18 hours. The way I felt right after I beat her has to be what heroin feels like.

What happens when I get the frenzied flame take Hayetas stuff and then use Miquella's Needle in that order without visiting a site of Grace?

Cheese strat I did for malenia was use the bloodhound step ash of war paired with 2 whips. offhand was blood while right hand was heavy (cause I was str and faith)...I used the bloodflame blade incantation and kept procin bleeds on her while 'ol reliable Black Knife Tiche did constant DoTs...I used a combination of freezing pots to stun her while dodging and using the bloodhound step in alternating order to avoid that nasty waterfowl dance in both phases and her 2 other signature moves in phase 2...I was able to solo her until phase 2 but lacked damage as I kept dodging, ultimately running out of fp (despite the ash of war costing only 5 fp)

On ng+ needed milicents prosthesis since i helped her on my first run n i now want to die bc of the guilt 😢

Malenia is the only boss I decided not to use spirits on and I managed to beat her after three weekends of waterfowl and clones 😭 (also didn't go through rebirth to give myself a challenge and used my main equipment but switched up my talismans)

Is it possible to get both talismans?

Melenia was rough. Tank armor black knife tiche with the rock spell and the death ritual spear. Let the spirit ash knock her down spam spears from above. It took a while for my luck to turn but eventually took her down with that strategy.
