The Golden Crystal Chilli, a bacatuum, is a new variation of the Aji Crystal Chilli. The original Crystal comes from Curico in Chile, first year of growing it, looks stunning and its an amazing producer
The plant grows well in a pot to about 60-70 cm in height and produces yields of 8-10 cm long pendant shaped pods. The pods start off a very light green and end up golden peachy colour, when they are fully mature.
What’s it Like?
How Hot is It?
Crisp and crunchy, initially a fruity tang and a light apple like flavour comes through, they are beautiful. Heat overtakes the flavour after a while
Heat hits in the back of the throat after finished chewing, then it sort of went WHACK and the heat just exploded and spread forward. Much hotter than the normal Crystal and a sharper burn than your normal bacatuum. Upper mid heat
All in all the Golden Crystal Chilli is easy to grow, great producer of delicious pods and it looks spectacular when it’s full of these peachy peppers.
