How would a candidate go about identifying these pain points from the employer... not like its on the website and a lot of time the recruiter is not in the know.

Tried this technique of proposing to the company how I could solve their current business problems based on research I have done. Guess what director became insecure and started misbehaving. So there is always 2 sides of the coin and not every strategy leads to a win.

Instead of focusing on extracting value, focus on giving value...

I once went to a job interview and they talked about marketing and upping sales even though that wasn’t the role for me. I was like I can do you great graphic designs and sent them some stuff before I got the job and I think they thought I was too much and didn’t hire me.

I think this is a great approach until the hiring manager being really stiff not wanting you taking the lead.
