One of the funniest videos, good points!
ОтветитьI'm a language teacher, I wear a sweater or a hoodie with a pair of jeans every day, unfortunately. I definitely should do something about it, I would love to look more stylish in class but most of the lessons take place in my home. I can dress better only for the dance classes which I have recently started attending. I used to be a professional dancer, at least I can't complain about my weight ;-) Thank you for the video! PS. My tip - ladies, improve your posture.
ОтветитьGreat ideas! The last one is the icing on the cake!
ОтветитьI love your humor and the slide’s illustrating you points are hilarious!!
ОтветитьAll of Marie-Anne's opinions are interesting
One suggestion I would like to add is related to bras. I think, many women, as they age are not ABLE to close a back-closing bra any more and opt to (or feel helpless to do otherwise) stop wearing bras altogether. I am thin yet other issues have caused me to start having trouble putting on my own bras. So I began hunting down and buying front-closing bras. And it is a hunt, especially for someone my size. They are actually easy to find for larger women or women with larger breast sizes. But for me, it's a hunt. Do manufacturers realize women age? Or do they just not care?
Also, following is a list of some things I, personally, do not do now that I am over 50. What others do is completely up to them and I won't judge them by their choices-- so much goes into making those choices; it's what makes clothing personal and unique. I don't know if they make me look younger; I'm just shooting for looking nice and attractive.
1. I never wear low-cut tops anymore. I don't like it because, despite avoiding the sun most of my life and taking care of my skin, somehow that whole area from my neck to my breasts has become a little leathery and is not at all something I want to show off.
2. I don't wear shorts more than one-inch above the knee. That's because I once passed a mirror and noticed the flesh on my thighs now wobbles in a very unattractive way. Rather than shorts -- and this may sound very old-womanish -- I often wear longer (below the knee) skirts, even at home. I find them much more comfortable, especially in hot weather. I usually wear solids and avoid pastels. Also, I look for skirts with pockets.
3. I never wear sleeveless tops, except at the beach. If it's hot, I'll wear a tank top with a loose shirt over that. No one needs to see my angel wings, thank you very much.
4. I never wear a two-piece bathing suit anymore. I work out and am in good shape. Still don't wear them. It just looks wrong ay my age. And this has been the case since I was 40.
5. I stopped wearing baseball caps which, in my opinion, are much too hot and look ridiculous on me. Besides, sun hats are much prettier and not only shade my entire face but also the back of my neck, too. If they don't have a tie (most don't) I add a small elastic that goes behind my ears and under my hair. It is virtually invisible but will keep the hat on my head on most windy days.
I am over 50 and I have never and would never own an anorak: they look so sad!!
Ответитьsilly
ОтветитьLeggings don't look good on young fashionistas, either!
ОтветитьI'm in my 50's, slim, and have never worn patterns in any decade. On me all pattern makes me feel frumpy so I don't feel good. I prefer tailored clothes in solid colours, usually neutrals which I'll add colour with accessories, but I've recently found a beautifully fitted, fuschia pink knit dress which I love & makes me feel classy & a little sassy ☺ If you feel good in something it can change the way you walk and carry yourself, which can knock years off how you look. Black was my go-to colour but now it drains my face, I wear green now which seems more flattering and uplifting on me 💚
ОтветитьSorry, but gotta say the blue dress looks sooo much better than stripes...😅
ОтветитьNoooo 😮I love paisley. Always have. I’m not stopping.
ОтветитьI always hated the pussy bow blouse -- for grannies and corporate board rooms in the '70s and '80s
Ответитьlike your hints on coats. I am very hard to fit but may go to a Service to find a trench or blazer style. Spend like a rich person! Right so right on florals. Plus sizes like these too. And for fitness and casual---- No pink knit slacks with Kittens on!! Plainer Tailored or Bright with neutral. And the fit!!! important. ( now tell the gen z ers to quit with tall rib knits if you are thin)!!!
ОтветитьI am tall with big feet and no waistline at all. Where does the 70 year old me find flattering jeans that fit but do not slide down, and size 43 shoes that are affordable?
ОтветитьI think the older we get the more comfortable we become with our inner female. Softer colours, florals and paisley's are part of that.
ОтветитьWhile I agree with most of her points, Lifestyle should dictate your persona style. My advice dress for your happiness....who cares what others think.
ОтветитьI’m in my 60s. I love my leggings. I do not like stripes or dots. I’m obviously not French Chic! I will have to disagree.
ОтветитьThe only place for leggings is relaxing around the home / doing housework etc, then change to go shopping.
My parents always said, "If you say you are old you will become old!"
So we're old but don't dress old lady. I concur!
ОтветитьWhat??? You are over 60???? You look so beautiful and definitely younger
ОтветитьLove you, Mrs. Lecoeur. You are do positive!
ОтветитьIm only 28 it hurts I think I need to dress my age now lol
ОтветитьI stopped wearing black which started to look aging, And started to wear dark navy instead.
ОтветитьI have never worn floral pants and don't know what an anorak is
ОтветитьI got flats with flowers for 10 bucks at Aldis. I get a lot of compliments on them.
ОтветитьNo leggings over 22
ОтветитьWatching all your videos since I don't want to look and feel old
ОтветитьRed and black prints are too dark. No?
ОтветитьI love your blazer!
ОтветитьYour English is impeccable.
Also when you said you were over 60, l literally yelled "what‽"
Frustrated by what I find available to me at 66, I am taking up sewing again to either alter my off the rack purchases or to start from scratch. I agree strongly with the many comments about posture. I also learned that an ill fitting bra that doesn’t counteract gravity causes your waist to simply disappear from your silhouette.
ОтветитьClass always. I enjoy your tips. Thank you. 🙂
ОтветитьI like leggings.
ОтветитьI think stripes look great on you, but I've only probably worn one striped shirt in my entire life as I am just not suited for stripes or polka dots. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate them on other people, however.❤ I don't much appreciate leggings or floral pants. Then, again, I don't think I have the best legs in the world for them, either!
ОтветитьStripes in a top including white & another colour should be straight up & down rather than around body makes you look slimmer especially if you have a big bust.
ОтветитьPlaid is pronounced plad
ОтветитьI think what makes you look older is wearing things that make you feel uncomfortable and unattractive. I personally don’t think anyone looks good in tight leggings without covering their buttocks. Very cheap and trashy. But millions of women wear them everywhere. Also what about floral shoes, plaid bags, or anoraks age you ? Oh well, To each their own. Fashion is objective.
ОтветитьWho cares if you are old it’s alright to look your age! Do what makes you happy!!!! 😃
ОтветитьMy friend gave me a tea towel that says:
Some people say that women of a certain age should not wear crowns made from the femurs of their vanquished enemies. The truth is that women of any age should wear whatever makes them feel confident.
Wear whatever you like and whatever you feel good in. Nothing is more aging than a lack of confidence. I’m still wearing things that I had in my 20s, almost 40 years ago. My clothes are older than most of my friends’ children.
This was such a great video!! I agree with brown florals… I think of couches from the 70s😂😂😂
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьI find you to be a breath of fresh air! You are insightful yet fun!
ОтветитьThank you Marie for your dressing tips. You don't look 60s but young. ❤
ОтветитьAgree 100%. Do you have advice on the Parfums? I started to like 🌹 💐. Maybe it makes me feel my age, can you share your thoughts? As in old anecdote, what do you wear in bed? Channel #5 😂😊
ОтветитьOops i like brown florals too
ОтветитьI love the tartan bag
