Stripped the house of every ounce of character it had to make a grey box.

The house turned out really pretty on the inside. The outside still looks strange, but it sure looks better without that weird peaked roof. It was hideous!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the peak roof was so cute.

I would have moved the entire living area and kitchen to the block at the left of the entrance. I would therefore have had 4 bedrooms: one at the place of the current kitchen, one instead of the dining room and two created in the family room. Instead of removing the peak of the roof hoping to give the house a more modern and attractive look, I would have concentrated the work only inside the house: the 4th bedroom would still have attracted a greater number of buyers as well as giving the house a more modern touch out.

I loved this episode! Their reactions to the smell, the pigeons, the felling coming down, was hilarious!!😂😂😂

I liked the original front, but I think it needed to be re-designed. But, I guess I like a little more of the Victorian style with a the modern, not just all modern. Anyway, I like that I get to see what it looks like without it though because I would never have had the courage to remove it myself. I do enjoy the modern clean lines and style that the two of you present though, too. I am still deciding!

What kind of trashy people leave places in this condition? It makes me think that the people there have no morals.

They should've remove the plants in front first before deciding to remove the front porch

I'm totally shocked to see that the majority of viewers here preferred the previous look of the "storybook" house. I have always hated that look. It's always looked like a cheap tract home to me. To each their own.
It's interesting how all of the design choices are already so dated - that glass tile, brown carpet, etc. The staging was atrocious. MAJOR, MAJOR improvements on that house though. They basically saved it. Wish we could have seen the backyard.

Omg I just got sooooo sad. The house looks so much cheaper and so boring without the peak and overhang. Cleaning up the landscaping and maybe modernizing the curvy/decorative trim would have done enough updating while keeping the home cute and unique and interesting. Ahhhhh soooo saaaddd😭😭😭😭

She is so pretty but that voice.....sounds like a cement mixer I don't know how American women sound like that .

Considering the dark, smelly mess that they started with. I think they worked wonders on this house !

Without the peak, the house looks like a tiny little box and has no character at all. What a shame. No, the exterior of the house is not really nice. It's kind of nothing.

It says Ceiling Repair cost $500, What????? The most expensive 8x4ft dry wall from Home Depot cost less then $30.

I thought the original roof had charm, and the overhang above the front door was inviting and a useful place to stand and find your key in bad weather, or to have a small bench where you could sit and take off outdoor boots etc. If they were worried that 'nobody can find the front door', why not use outdoor landscaping to lead people to the door with an attractive path and planting?

Changing the roofline ruined a gorgeous looking house with bags of character into what looks like a glorified scout hut!

Yikes, this is the first time a house looked better before than after ( on the outside).
