I just bought one for my birthday today! Excited to build this one
ОтветитьI have this oné but it's grey. You do it really good
ОтветитьGreat work, even though it's such a small scale😉🤘🏼
ОтветитьOMG I HAD THIS MODEL!!!
ОтветитьHi again, Matt! 😀 As always, great tips and a very nice build 👍👍👍. For things like those tiny wheels, I put some masking tape sticky-side up under the sprue and then cut them off.
ОтветитьI am never sure what shade to use for "flesh" for the DAK / 8th Army. I don't think soldiers stayed "pink" for long. Maybe a "light oak"? Or something further on the spectrum towards mahogany??
ОтветитьI built the Matchbox Eastern Front version in the early 80's
ОтветитьThank you for great tutorial i want to start buildong some models and you gave great information
Ответитьneed sand for the tracks tank
ОтветитьThese Matchbox kits were always phenomenal value. The idea of a kit including diorama base and figures for no extra cost (as they originally were) is so good. Good kits too. Well done Revell for continuing the whole package.
ОтветитьI’ve started building the old matchbox tank model dioramas in 1/35 scale.
ОтветитьI like how customisable this set could be, when mine arrives I’m going to make it look like it’s in France rather afrika
ОтветитьI've built the whole range of these little models with dioramas and I loved 👍
ОтветитьAwesome build. I usually build in the 72-76 range and I've built that one myself, though not as well as you, good sir I love most of the matchbox armor sets, with the Wespe being my favorite. Sadly, I've never built either three Firefly not the Cromwell, but I have faith I'll find them both. They are on my wishlist so.......... Anyway, I love what you've done with the Panzer II and the set as a whole. Thank you for sharing your love of the hobby With us all
ОтветитьWhen I were a lad my 50p pocket money covered one Matchbox kit with 15p change for sweets, so I have very fond memories of this kit. Nice build, well constructed , painted and weathered. I usually use Seraphim Sepia for the wash, but the Nuln Oil looks really good, I might switch. The tracks always have loads of mould release agent so need very thorough cleaning after which they can be superglued. I like to glue to the toothed sprocket first and then glue to the top of the wheels/track guides adding a bit of track sag (might need to make sprue spacers to temporarily force the tracks to sag until the glue has set. The Matchbox or Revell rebox tracks can be gently stretched if they are too tight, or a very quick dip in boiling water will shrink them, but take care and go slowly, they can shrink so tight that they'll snap the wheels off! (I know from personal experience). Oddly Airfix 'rubber band' tracks don't shrink in boiling water. Also keep the boiling water away from your paint job, it might not damage it, but why risk it! With a bit of practice (and maybe some strategically placed weathering) those old rubber bands can actually look pretty decent. :)
ОтветитьIdea for a painting / spray station.
A cheap / second hand PC case with a clear side
Pair of gloves
Get rid of the guts of the case - drive shelves etc. to leave an empty box.
Cut two circular holes in side, stick cuffs of gloves to circumference of holes.
Voila. You can then put the model and spray can inside the case, close the lid, put your hands in the gloves and spray with your lungs intact :)
BTW you're better at dioramas than you think!
Thought re instructions.. maybe advise people to cross out options / parts they don't intend using? That way when it comes to fitting them together nobody accidentally uses the wrong part(s).
Only including a closed option for the turret also avoided the bullet (pun intended) of having to mould an interior. Given the age of the kit that would be unlikely.
Re tank tracks.. it could be worse.. individual links at 1:72 scale.. plank on frame with a vengeance lol
Just love that diorama you can invision it right in front of you like you was the especially how you can see the chap with the prime grenade North Africa was my favourite Theatre of War so I'd say this is one really cool little diorama
ОтветитьThis brought back good memories... tq
ОтветитьThis just an old reboxed Matchbox kit from the 70's. It was great kit then as Matchbox did models that were not generally available. But I cannot see any difference in the mouldings to bring up to a more modern standard. Still it is a nice kit.
ОтветитьVery good modeling, thank you for that!
ОтветитьGreat video. Your paint job was excelent. I recently got this kit from Amazon for about 6 or 7 quid and am looking forward to building and painting it soon. I was quite surprised at how small this tank is in comparison to the figures.
ОтветитьI'm getting this in a few days :D
Ответитьwhat are the completed dimensions of both the tank and base?
ОтветитьYo i have problem with band trakcs . Can someone help in comments here ?
ОтветитьI remember the old matchbox kits well, excellent play/display value for the money with the diorama base and figures, great video thanks 👍
ОтветитьHad this kit when it was matchbox, in the 80s it was a two tone kit and "didn't need painting", but it did, loved these kits and made them all
ОтветитьJeez u replayed to every comment
ОтветитьDoes it have the paint taht we need to use this in this set or should i buy paint for this set
ОтветитьCitadel actually has a contrast paint where you just have to have a white layer as a base and then you paint the contrast paint on and then there is no wash needed as the paint works as one itself. however this mostly helps when the model is primed white tho
ОтветитьHey its my fav tank in wotb i selled
ОтветитьI despise revell glue! It always clogs the Needle and when i remove the needle, either nothing comes out or the entire content of the bottle.
Tamyia super thin masterrace!
This range from Revell is what got me into the hobby initially when I was a kid. Dad helped build and paint - he had more fun than I did I reckon :D There is a full range of other 76 scale tanks with bases and often figures. As you point out, the figures and base really help bring these little models to life. May have to buy some of these for some nostalgia builds!
Ответитьamazing vídeo
ОтветитьPainting mine now, thanks v much for the video, without it I wouldn't have known about the dio it includes. Anyone know any other kits around this scale with a dio included?
ОтветитьYour video help me allote because I just start doing this scale model ❤️. You are best 😁
ОтветитьI have this kit, I enjoyed building, however there were large gaps between the hull and top
ОтветитьNice to see the old Matchbox kits getting an airing
ОтветитьGreat video and build. I am building this one now and followed the tips and advice on your video. Thanks!, has really helped me to enjoy making this kit.
ОтветитьYes, those rubber tracks are an eyesore, i try to fit fenders and skirts in an effort to cover them where possible.
Regardless, those Matchbox kits are brilliant considering the age of them. Found the Jagdpanther is a lovely kit.
Well done on your build.
Halfway through this film so far. Great job on the figures, especially the webbing. What size brush is the one you use on the wall building diorama? Oh, and is this the old Matchbox rebranding by Revell? Nice job so far.
ОтветитьSo why you didn't put matte varnish on the finish ? , too gloosy look at the end
ОтветитьGreat job on this classic Matchbox kit Matt! I would love to see your take on the classic 1/35 scale Tamiya PzKpfw II kit after seeing this.
ОтветитьI really love these reboxed 1/76 kits and I've built 7 of them now. The fact they come with their own diorama base gives me more fun as it becomes its own story once built. I am trying to get the 1/76 Morris C8 17PDR Willys Jeep but the postage some people are charging is ridiculous lol. Look forward to the next build!
ОтветитьNicely done 👍, i've got Matchbox same kit and watching your video i'll be very happy when i'll build it!
ОтветитьHi, it's small, fine but nice finish ! I'm happy that I could watch such as video. I just joined your channel, thank you !!!
ОтветитьCool work. I like it.
ОтветитьJust discovered your channel and subscribed. Luv doing the braille scale and it was great to see your vid on the Panzer
ОтветитьLooks more like the Matchbox kit I has as a kid.
