That because during the pandemic they let these so called customers lied about they didn't get their food or his or her car dirty or anything these people get on these apps for free ride or food these amp companies are the one shoot themselves in a foot they made it worse by paying drivers low

This also sounds like a big catch 22. You would loose alot of your freedoms. They will make you work when they want you to work. So makes you more of an employee. They just need to pay their drivers more.

As soon as the government gets involved its all over. The government will want a huge cut of the pie. Uber and Lyft and others will want the same profit per ride/delivery. So all that will happen is the cost will get so high for the customer that trips and delivery orders will dry up. None of us will make any more money and the days of the business model will come to end.

Exactly one of the few embarrassments of trump's entire presidency. It's a shame he didn't have the brain cells to know uber is a company and if you are working for a company you are an employee. Because independent contractors have their own company and work for themselves they don't work for a company. Because if you sign up for something that's an application because you're applying for something no different than any other job and you get approved to for it you are hired. And besides independent contractors don't have idiotic things like cancelation and acceptance rating and they sure as hell don't have someone sending them messages complaining about their cancellation rating and threaten to fire them. No matter how Trump or uber wants to look at it and lie the fact is uber drivers are employees and should be treated as such that's why a union needs to happen and the government should step in make these driving companies stop with their forced labor garbage.

Who believes these companies want to pay Worker's Compensation Insurance? Imagine how expensive that would be, as dangerous as this work can be, in some cities. Also, your car is the workplace. Do you u want OSHA riding in your car, while investigating workplace safety? I DON'T. I also want nothing to do with union dues. The last union dues I paid did NOTHING for me. Our union Local President was EATING THEM, at 450 pounds. I WILL NOT DRIVE as an employee. NO ALGORITHM is going to tell me when, and where, to drive MY CAR.

Our government is scrambling to get taxes from all gig economy workers faster....independent contractors only pay once a year....they care nothing about our earnings, insurance health benefits.
Just collecting taxes...

a week ago doordash in California in the area where I'm at stopped showing how many items are in the orders coming from the restaurants. as independent contractors we have the right to see how many items are in the delivery order, what are those items and which customer we are delivering to. these details were available to see before the latest changes were done on the Android devices. now in order to see what's in the order you have to accept it first and then if it's not worth it traveling that far for a very small or few items then we have to unassign which lowers the completion rate and can lead to deactivation. so basically doordash is luring the drivers into a double trap and then deactivating them for blindly accepting orders in which important details are hidden by doordash.

if I see that the delivery offer has 10 or 15 drinks or the customer is someone I don't want to deal with again as a independent contractor I should be able to see that in the delivery offer before accepting or declining. basically all apps classify their drivers as independent but in the real world they're treating them as employees

So basically the government had to step in so drivers can get treated better that's f*** up on these companies parts they should have been doing that so these companies are going to have to learn how to treat drivers better and not cater to customers so much and actually paid the drivers who are doing most of the work anyway I find it amazing they can do all kinds of stuff to get a free ride or free food but the drivers can't do any of that

Well they can't get the app to work 100% so how will a SELF driving Car deliver people and battle driving in REAL traffic. I used app the unlock my car and got locked out. So had to call company to open and start for me. Technology is NOT there yet. I think they should be Employees. There are times when they are slow or they don't make much money. A base pay would be better . The numbers $$$ don't lie. For me the numbers told me to quit.

I’m a NYC uber driver. I owned a 2016 Lexus at the time with Pool,X and Black. 2016 -2019. In 2019 before the pandemic I purchased a Toyota Sienna WAV. This particular paid a lot more per mile and minute. I was averaging $3500-$3700 a week 5-6 day. In 2022 uber email all driver that they will reduce our rate. I’m keeping my story short. Now I average $2500-$2700 in 6 days. So not fair!!!! We are out 10-11hrs hustling for pennies. For those already saying get another job, I already acquired my DOT and MC. I think it’s time for a change. I really enjoyed uber at that time before they stiffed us!!!!! GOD BLESS everyone!

Cities here starting their own rideshare so best watch out . 2.00 per ride . Test marketing as we speak in Chandler AZ. And Scottsdale was fining drivers 10k a weekend 50 tickets to put money into City Rideshare . How convenient to get money off drivers on Camelback . They should get class action on that . Now Uber say not drive on Camelback. City should be.sued giving parking tic on street and bike zone at 2am that road block so City get that money.

I dont understand why uber and lyft do this to their American drivers 😤
This never happens in Australia.. probably due to competition..
We have uber. Didi, ola, inDriver, etc..
InDriver charges drivers to use app and drivers keep 100% of fare. And you can negotiate with customer prior to accepting trips.. the US needs something like that.. we don't have upfront pricing here- id get angry if I knew how much they will pay - I just check the total at end of my shift.. I think its better that way.. and I'm usually happy... big fan from Australia ✌️

That good. We are going to see the fall of these two companies Uber and lyft. No one will accept to be employees of these two companies because of their allegorism, theft, deceit, and with their upfront fare on the ground. What a joy it gives me and if God allows it, both uber and Lyft will sink the ship. Don't accept Uber and lyft's proposal to be employees SAY NO. Neither of these two companies can send you to work at the time they say. It's your car and you keep your car. because neither Uber nor lyft has the right over us drivers. THE END OF UBER AND LYFT. THAT'S GOOD
