If you are going to make kimchi, only add shrimp paste if you’re not allergic. I’m not Korean nor do I make kimchi, but I doubt it’s necessary. I usually buy vegan kimchi sense I can’t eat shrimp/shellfish period😭

First time I ate kimchi was a couple years ago when I made it myself, after fermenting it I tried it and it was disgusting, it just tasted wrong, so I unfortunately tossed it all cause I thought I had done something wrong, a bit later I ordered some in a restsurant to see how it was supposed to taste, it was the exact same, I was so disappointed because this delishious crunchy stuff was not fitting with my tatsebuds... I think if it was suoer fresh I would like it but it's not worth the work for me, but the sour fermented taste I just don't like it and I wish I did 😔

Hello! I made kimchi for the first time about 2days back. And after making it. I left it out at room temp for few hours. And put it in the fridge. But it doesnt seem to be bubbling or having any sourish smell like the ones i bought at the store. Did i do something wrong? Your advice is appreciated! Thankyou.
