"bigger brother, bigger sister"...which is it? :-) See...that's how young folks get so corn-fused about their "real" sex these days! :-))) Heyyy...the real reason for commenting is to suggest a future video about WHY? there are so-many huge RVs parked everywhere. Like nobody has a use for them! I design/build ECOhomes, and KNOW I can build a similar-sized ECOhome for LESS-$$$ than whatever those RV's cost. And we often laff at those "fools" who'd waste all that $$$ (building or owning) for something to just sit...unused!! Nutz, no?

btw, Mr. Realtor, I've run into ALOT of SW FL, USA Realtors who also live in RVs! Must be y'all don't really believe the "nonsense" about owning the zillions of McMansions & cookie-cutters everywhere folks try to sell. And young'uns then have to work 4-jobs to even "afford". Sad, man!

Know my just-built ECOhome's Aug2023 electric was $48, for 675sf. Crazy high, huh!! :-)

Hello, appreciate your informative video! I live in my renovated 5th wheel on someone's property and the WIFI signal is good but undependable as I'm about 50 ft from the main house but there's a row of trees in between us. I'm wondering if a roof unit like the winegaurd would be better for me? The WIFI for the main house is decent but I need a better signal. So would you say the pepwave or winegaurd would be better? I've also heard good things about the Alpha camp pro. Appreciate your advice!TY

Great video. I still don't understand one thing. Only service in my area is att. Can I just purchase an att sim card or do I have to invest into an att plan?

Looks like excellent equipment but you’d have to want internet really bad to pay those prices but I guess when you break it down, it’s really not that bad. If you compare it to paying home internet at $100-$150 per month on average for decent speeds, and that’s every month, whereas this is a one time equipment charge, then the payback on this is just under a year which really makes it a bargain, especially if your still trying to work while on the road.

Thank you for the info and the video!

I would say you mentioned a bit of disinformation yourself... After 40 years in Radio, Cellular, Internet, Satellite TV and Boosters... To your comment Boosters have a totally different application then what your video is covering... You don't need a booster in Signal areas, or camping near metro areas... What the Booster is for is in remote areas where Cellular Signal is weak... Your basic antenna won't boost that signal... Having said all that, if you want internet, use Star Link and throw away all your other plastic... With a booster is does 3 things, it boosts your cell signal in weak signal areas, which allows you to use your data and third, create a positive hot spot which is also called internet... With your devices you still end up with poor cell reception in low signal cellular coverage areas... I would choose a good cellular booster over your contraption anytime of the day or week... Add data to your cellular device instead of having double packages of data, plus it's totally portable and mobile besides being stuck in and RV only which a sim card on a device stick to the RV location...

Looking for something less expensive than Starlink, and that's hard to do. With this setup, you're over $1000 - why not just go with Starlink at this point and enjoy a fully redundant system between cell phones and high-speed satellite internet?

Looks like a possibly good solution. I have a situation when I travel to the farm and only cellular service is available for internet connection. I use a small Netgear/ATT hotspot. The issue I have discovered is that I get only 1 signal strength bar of 4g LTE signal. I have tried moving it from window to window, but 1 bar is all I can get. It works sorta, but is very slow and the hotspot tends to get pretty warm and locks up and you have to do a power cycle. Now…does the Peplink do a better job of cellular reception, and does it have antennas dedicated to reception? Also if needed can a higher gain external antenna be attached? With respect to provider service, can just 1 SIM be used. I typically get a 30 day prepaid SIM card. I use this setup for mainly email and internet access for remote PC access to client PCs for support. Does it allow use on batteries also?

Seems to me the purpose of buying an RV and go camping is to leave all that technology shit back home to take a break from the world but oh no the millennials and younger gens are so addicted to all that crap they absolutely must have it where ever...when ever so why even bother wasting money on an RV and camping. Just stay home and sit at you computer or out in the back yard with your cell surgically attached to you hand. That is part of the reason the world/people are so fucked up these days...

Wow, this is excellent equipment used by marine and transportation agencies that provide internet service to passengers and staff. It's also used by atm machines where dedicated high speed lines are not available for rural areas and allows you to create vpns. Great find.

We bought one of these. It didn't work and we ended up sending it back. If it was on for more than 24 hours, it would stop working and get extremely hot and I would have to unplug it until it cooled down. It would get so hot that it burned my hand and also burned the countertop where it was placed. When it was cool enough to handle it barely worked, it would hardly be enough to download a small e-mail. Buyer beware with this product. And for what you get it is very expensive!

I am trying to figure out if these Pepwave devices have been obsoleted by Starlink with Roaming now operational. The $100 per month for Starlink is about the same cost for having twin data sims and the hardware cost is actually cheaper than the more pricey Pepwave models. I would like to see a cost and performance comparison video of these two options.

Thank you for this post. I apologize for some of the ignorant comments from people that have nothing better to do. This was very informative. I will be FT living in a motorhome in a few months. I work remotely- so like your wife, will need to be able to be connected. Thank you for all of the information. One question- can you use the set up of the pep wave modem with the sim card in your home? Probably a dumb question, but before I hit the road, I would love to trouble shoot it- and heck..if I can get rid of my home internet for a few months..save a few bucks. Thanks in advance!
