flash final will always been my favorite its so terminator sounding and this came out the same year lol 1984 with that future sound in there just so iconic and powerful its the perfect score they could've made for when Charly goes beast mode

This album is the literal definition of "phoning it in".

Tangerine Dream was cyberpunk before cyberpunk even existed. They were so ahead of their time.

Tangerine Dream also did the soundtrack to Near Dark,a classic 80's vampire movie.👌

i remember Lucretious and Mabel burning hot wax on weenies in the middle of a energy night, candles agleam, invigorating her ass cheeks as i watched from above in frozen fear as this soundtrack reverberated the lofty air that night. it was midsummer 1985 and we were atop the world but headed for a heartbreak and twisting in our libations. it was truly a feast for the senses to be learing at such a vestige looming our minds. tangerines dreams worming with cucumbre

Where's the music when the soilder and the girl was arguing at the beginning, how bout the music when Rainbird was looking at Charlie's picture ,the film version of the music from the test lab scene,the short music when Martin sheen was riding the bike and the music when Charlie's dad had the flashback when his wife was killed and rescued Charlie?!!!! This is one of the most incomplete soundtracks ive ever seen. And from such a great score. Can't believe after all these years they still haven't made a complete version of this marvelous score!!! Just a remastered version of the same 11 tracks from the same Firestarter soundtrack,what id pay to get the full soundtrack!!! Oh and what about the music when the shop came to the old man's farm to get Charlie☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️?

It is nice to read these comments about a band that are pioneers of Electronic Music. If you really do like this soundtrack, then I recommend you listen to Sorcerer.

A scorcher mostly but aways felt it was a slight missed opportunity not having the sound of fire fx in a couple of the quieter sections

Oh Thank you Richard it was the 1990 release I wanted I do appreciate your replying back to me. But I did find the songs on Apple Music you have to keep rejecting to join Apple Music and it finally pops up the iTunes so you can buy the album or individual songs from the 1990 release. First of all THANKS so very much for sharing this cd with the rest of us. It is an AWESOME cd.
I just saw Firestarter the original from 1984 and remembered all the great music.
So I tried to find the cd and I could only find one and they want $120.00 for it. No Thank you that’s outrageous!! I have went online to just download and buy the songs and there are not any of those songs anywhere. Would you by chance know what song would be the closest to Crystal love?? It’s my absolute favorite on the cd. I’ve listened to all the songs available and nothing seems very close to me. Just thought you might. Thank you for your time.

This one could benefit a lot from a remix + remaster. If only I had the original multi track tapes...one may Dream :)

Cant believe after all these years the record companies still havent been able to assemble this fabulous movie's entire score. Only a remastered version but not an expanded version. The cue in the movie when the soilder and his girlfriend was arguring, the cue when rainbird was looking at Charlie's photo, the short cue when Martin sheen was riding his bike, the cue when Charlie's daddy had a flashback to when he met his wife, all these cues have never been released and if they havent yet they probably never will. It would be a real treat one day if they were cause ive always been a HUGE fan of Tangerine's score to this classic movie! But all the great record companies out there though has suprised me on several occcasions so who knows, maybe they will again.

I first discovered TD in 1981 with the awesome soundtrack for Michael Mann's "Thief". I followed them ever since.
I saw them live in 1986, they did not disappoint.
If you have come here because of the "Stranger Things" tv show then check out their other soundtracks for "Thief" (brilliant film and soundtrack), "The Keep", "Wavelength", "Near Dark" (another great film and soundtrack), "Flashpoint", the list goes on.
For me their best work was during the Edgar Froese, Chris Franke, Johannes Schmoelling, line up.
Froese was truly gifted.

Absolutely Love this soundtrack... and Legend (the full version.. not the terrible CD version)... brings back so many childhood memories .. you can clearly hear John Carpenters 2022 score was influenced by this.. The 2022 remake is a boring film though... shame...

This is by no means the film score, this is just the album they did for the movie. Look at all the important cues that were left out, ridicoulus!

I know this soundtrack since I was a kid. I always knew it is something very unique and special. Its amazing how scores can really shape a movie and make it complete.
Tangerine Dream and John Carpenter were THE 80s sound in movies.

Have the vinyl of this.Then again I have the majority of TD on vinyl.

I can remember being blown away by this brilliant movie, directed by Mark L Lester, and as good as it was, it's the soundtrack that steals the show. The opening music Crystal voice is beautiful, haunting and unforgettable. I have the soundtrack on cd, it's one of the best I have.

I'm sure it may have been mentioned already, but definitely check out The Keep. The soundtrack transports you.
