Most of the US is filled with the homeless who obviously are entitled to disability , and food stamps and Medicaid . Due to the fact they have no one to help them get these things in line , and find an affordable home , with a legal address ..there is simply no hope for them . This is a crime against humanity .

It's not easy to get the property. I filled one form and ended up getting more to fill out. Plus you need other paperwork which she may not have had access to. There should have been a way for her though. All that money may have helped her to at least get to bed father.

Would be nice of the state could figure out a way to give some of that money to her friends that need it. Or use it to start up some kind of help center or More permanent housing. That would be the moral thing to do.

In my opinion they don't show it or Advertiser help they just expect people to know where to go who to call and what to do but have you supposed to go places and call people and do something if you don't know what to do that's the problem they need to show more advertising about it they need to put themselves out there more business cards

This article makes it sound like it's the states fault. They weren't keeping it from her. They should have added that every state has a website you can check for unclaimed funds.

The State has their issues. Which, I have to assume, considering the complexity of dynamics in public office, I believe, until improvements can be made, is forgivable. At least, when we put it in perspective with “…an ATTORNEY (my caps) representing her late mother’s estate couldn’t find Kathy, either.” Are you kidding me?!?!? Did you hire the bumbling “…private investigator (who) came up empty.”? Of course, you, attorney may be empathetic, but, it isn’t quite enough until you’ve actually put yourself in their shoes. What is experience compared to a hypothetical scenario? I’m sorry, but, if you, attorney, find yourself reading this, all the expletives in this universe can’t begin to express my outrage!

UNFORGIVABLE! UNFORGIVABLE! UN-FORGIVABLE!!!!

With that amount of money Kathy could’ve decided for herself whether or not she had any mental issues and if wanted, kick her drug habit, too. Or, manage it better, anyhow. I mean, what’s a drug habit? What percentage of society can’t live without a prescription or even an aspirin?

Now, onto a semantic error by the journalist/narrator: he says, “…like himself, Kathy struggled to survive…” here, are we implying Donny isn’t homeless, anymore? He’s, now, CEO of Topaz Farm? Yo, Donny! Say hello to (Don) Kruger for me, will ya? (Assuming he still works there.)

As for her dad, maybe, I’m a little hardened, because, my mom had to leave my father when I was an infant and her third and last husband had to be taken away from her, prematurely (unnatural causes). I feel for Donny and Kathy’s other friends more than him. Maybe, he could try giving away, zero strings attached, $800,000 to a homeless woman who has similar issues that he thinks his late daughter had and see how she does, thereafter?

I’m scared shitless to say this, but, I bet my life, you’ll see a turn around that will knock mental health and its’ books (the U.S. and WHOs) of mental illnesses off kilter and mesmerize, stupefy and flatline many scientists and practitioners in that field/industry.
