That amount is going to make bales fast, may have to wind out the weight or have busted strings.

Interesting cutter, (offset to tractor) lots of universals to grease on that PTO. Really like the channel & beautiful hay!! Newly subscribed from Mid-Atlantic area. Take care!

Have you ever seen a mower that’s become very common here in Sweden, called a ”Butterfly”? Its one mower in the front and one at each side, behind the tractor. Then you would be very efficiant, having a job aside as you do...
Maybe help your neighbors and get some income on the investment?

Well it looks like we've got your rain here now 😣. I reckon a hydroswing mower would be a nice investment 😆. I've pretty much done the same with my fields. Basically I'm stupid enough to take the small, annoying fields that every one else is clever enough to leave alone 😂😂😆

Looks good!  Our hay here has been marginal this year.  It has rained almost non stop so a lot of the pastures have not been sprayed or fertilized, and a lot of the wheat turned before farmers could cut it for hay, so wheat hay will be almost non-existent.  I'm fixing to start our grass hay next week if weather prevails.  So far the Bermuda is very stunted due to the cool weather.  It'll be interesting!  On another note, what do you use to mount your camera to the equipment?  I want to try that but don't want the camera to get bucked off, either.  Thank you!

@roadkill5333
@roadkill5333 - 03.07.2019 20:32

I often wonder how the decision is made to do things, like mowing a field. That mower looks like it runs best off to the right. Does it also track along behind, or even to the left?

Are you mowing to the right to prevent driving on the standing hay? Does it knock it down, and make it harder to mow if it's not offset?

You seem to be following the basic outline of the shape of the field. With each pass, you seem to stick to the basic shape. Does this help out in some way? Is it just drivers choice, or does it somehow make a better mowing process? I understand the limits of the parcel, but once around the edges, can you straighten out the rows? Would it make it easier to navigate? Or would it make some other unknown problems? It would seem that the easiest way would be straight lines, and that would be based on the second or third trip around, but reduce the amount of steering, backing, and unnecessary trips around tight corners with unproductive moves.

Just curious! Thanks.

Even though it’s a four year old video, I’m happy to have found it. Nice to see a real farmer running some NH machines. While that’s what we’ve ran for generations, I’m open minded on what’ll be next. Nice to see a T5 in action.
Cheers 🍻

My grandpa used to say that the clover seed is always there you just gotta get the ph right to make it grow to its fullest potential. Snd that field is absolutely beautiful crop of hay buddy. You sure got it going your way. Hopefully it's still producing this year like it was that year.
