As an early closed beta player the old UI takes me back :D
Yeah the EARLY game didn't have a lot of content and was a bit stiff, but its aesthetics were odd and fresh. It wasn't a Halo or Warhammer clone and you could feel the potential.
Also that old upgrade tree sssUCKED. The mod system was a stroke of genius, it introduced customization, upgrading, creativity and the collector itch all at once.

Something about the old look and scale of the game looks more interesting.

I just started playing this year and it’s kinda cool to see the where the DNA of the game I love, came from.

Man I have followed this game since that initial trailer (still go back just to listen to the music from time to time) I even played Warframe in it's earlier states. The only reason why I haven't played for years is because of how vast it has gotten, and how many systems and subsystems I'd have to catch up on. Still, a very fun game and I'm glad it's succeeded the way it has

The game letting you play 100percent for free is the reason why I spend my money on the game because they really do deserve it

When plains of eidolon first came out i used excalibur alot, archwing deployers were a limited resource back than i didn't feel like wasting it so i used max range excalibur to slash dash around the map which was honestly really fun.

hem... the devs said clearly that even if there were things like the glaive,the skin, the technocyte and the word "Tenno" in both game they are not linked by scenario or universe.

In the warframe universe the word "tenno" is from "ten-(zer)o" , and the other similarities is just a lack of inspiration...

Warframe is not a Dark Sector sequel and not even placed in the same universe

Some notes: The Proto(-Armor) skins for Excaliber and the Glaive (which have in-game lore that contains another reference to the time of Digital Extreme's previous successful game) are not the only remnants of Warframe's spiritual predecessor; there is a special skin for Nyx called "Nemesis", which makes her look like the recurring boss of the same name from Dark Sector, who had a lot of the same abilities as Nyx. The fact that Nyx is female is a nod to the big reveal of Nemesis's true identity. There is also the in-game lore that Earth had to be abandoned at some point due to a virus that horribly mutated most of the organic life there, which is similar to (but not exactly the same as) the virus that Hayden was trying to stop the spread of in Dark Sector. Finally, standing special missions that are harder, but offer higher rewards, are called "Dark Sector missions".

Founder, played since 2013. Still love it. There are a few brakes here and there, but I always return to my favorite game.

That’s actually nuts I remember beating dark sector multiple times on the 360 when it first came out it was my favorite game at the time, I play warframe now there was so much time in between games that I had no clue about a link between the two games that’s awesome. 🤣

I honestly wonder how Warframe even existed, because looking at Dark Sector now, it’s just a massive piece of crap.

Most modern live service free to play games are such, modeled after Warframe. I remember seeing a video where a corporate exec saw Warframe and said that's how he wants his game to be. To this day, Warframe is almost the only game where the model works well. DE have had their stinginess too though, at times.

What I don't like is the fact that people who bought the founder packs are sometimes Perma banned without reason

whats truly insane is that Excalibur is the only frame with 2 upgraded forms

I remember the first time I ever saw him in dark sector and when I started playing warframe and I saw him I was like "Wait....I know you"

I had NO IDEA Dark Sector was related to Warframe! I had completely forgotten that I had even played it!

Excalibur is the literal Pikachu of warframe

I love the starter frames in the opening cinematic. Volt got Lightning Powers. Mag got Gravity Power.
And Excalibur out there with a bow and a sword.

Every year or so when I come back to the game for a week or two it's always fun to rock my Excalibur Prime. What makes that "feel" sweeter is none of my friends who do play the game have it Hah

They injected a dax test subject with the infested dna and sat back to watch the random result of assimilation/adaptation/bonding then mass produced favored outcomes

I loved Excalibur ever since playing DarkSector as a teenager, his proto skin was the first purchase I made in the game and now I love Umbra too. Thank you DE
