ОтветитьIf u did not listen to the measurements in the video you will mess up your cake like i did because the recipe in the instructions box is a bit confusing. The sugar and sour cream for the topping could have had its own section in the recipe. Waste of money for trying the first time. But i will try again and hope for the best

ОтветитьI'm going to make your cheesecake today it will be my first ever cheesecake wish me luck thank you for the recipe.. when recipes call for let's say a half cup of something, do they account for what's left on the measuring cup? Most always there's a bunch of stuff stuck to the side of the cup or spoon, how does a person account for that? Were you taught anything about that in culinary school? I've always wondered that, some things are precise like making macarons I always account for the egg whites that I know will stick to the cup, always at an extra gram should I be doing that to recipes? Thank you

ОтветитьI have made this recipe a few times now with a few little changes.
Reaction from one of my friends who likes thick and pasty cheese cake - "Please sir may I have some more" - 3 slices later I had to stop him. I serve it with fresh made whipped cream, a bit of chopped up fresh mint and fresh chopped strawberries.
I use a whisk in my mixer instead of a paddle. This helps incorporate the ingredients better. I add the sour cream closer to the start which helps smooth out the cream cheese and I make darn sure the cream cheese is at room temp. I didn't do that once and it came out crappy using the paddle.
I hold back some granulated sugar and corn starch and add some powered sugar instead. Important to dig out that cream cheese at the sides of the mixing bowl and at the bottom - I can't stress that enough; this is why I add the sour cream more towards the start, it helps mix the cream cheese better because I am using the whisk instead of the paddle.
I also found that most people who eat my cheesecake like more of the crust so I add more crackers than the recipe calls for.
So far following the instructions in this video my cheesecake has not cracked at the top; not a big deal with me if it does anyway as the fresh whipped cream and fresh strawberries covers it.
I made this cheesecake and my family said it was better than The Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes!! Thank you!!

ОтветитьI love your recipes btw but the way the recipe is written can be confusing to a novice like me. I caught myself putting all 275gms of sugar in & not realizing the two tablespoons were for something separate. Not sure how much of a difference that made but still. Same with the sour cream. Thank goodness I was like that’s a lot of sour cream to put in the cheesecake mixture & stopped myself. I know it was my own error and misreading and cooking with this video is very helpful but in case someone comes across this comment, just make sure your reading the recipe correctly 😂 or really pay attention to the video!

ОтветитьI halved the recipe, used 100g of erythritol instead of sugar, and mixed one scoop of strawberry protein powder and it's the best cheesecake I've ever made. It tastes like restaurant quality. Like, I NEVER bake things this good.
