Never use your fingers to fold paper on camera. We are all like the painting "The Scream"

I just had to learn number 3 the hard way this past week. I had it in my head that both sides could be done at once so I tried and tried to get them both at the same time. After having a bunch of grooves to go back and fill I decided one side at a time has to be easier.

Thanks so much for your tutorials!! I am a 54yr old woman working on some drywall. I watched my dad from a little girl do all kinds of drywall. He was a perfectionist and NEVER had to touch sandpaper to dried mud! His walls were perfectly smooth! He passed away a little over a year ago. I can’t ask him questions anymore. Your videos have informed me on such great tips! I will continue to learn from your videos. 😃👍👍

I may be late to the party, but when you only finish one side with mud and let it dry, does the other side not start to bubble because you don't put a top layer of mud on it to keep it moist?

Great tip on dulling the edges. About to buy a new knife.

Q. If your corner has holes or a large gap for whatever reason (repairing an older home), would you recommend using spray foam then shaving flat to give some solid backing before proceeding?

When doing a small job that you don’t want to take a week to finish, use a plaster based compound that you mix from a bag. Use one that sets up in 90 minutes. You’ll be able to make all of your “repeat passes” one side at a time on the wall corners and ceiling corners and, depending on the size of the job, you could be out in two days, or less.

What about using fibrafuse fine mesh, FibaFuse FDW8234-U 2-1/16-Inch? Paper tape always wrinkles and I can't ever get rid of grid pattern texture of the normal mesh tape? So, I only carry the fine mesh fibra fuse, FibaFuse FDW8234-U 2-1/16-Inch...(Fine Drywall Weave 8234-Underlayment, as my mnemonic)

You did not just crease that paper that quick.. when I was doing it I had to go bit by bit or else the crease would not be along the line in the paper

When adding a new wall that abuts and existing wall, I just put the tape flat over the new wall after filling any gap with mud and leave the existing wall alone. The straight edge of the tape makes a nearly perfect corner and I don't mess up the finish of the existing wall. I've done this a number of times in my own house and have never had any problems. If the house shifts, a gap might form, but with the straight edge of the tape, it will likely be straight and easily filled during the next paint job. With the tape folded into the corner, a similar shift could cause it to ripple, which would arguably look worse.

Just wondering in the corners there is much more air circulation. Won't the taped corners eventually come loose from the push of air ?
