ОтветитьI flew in a 777 to France and the 787 back to the US. It's insane how much more comfortable, quiet, and spacious the 787 was for long haul flights.
ОтветитьI have also flown in both Types and can't say with any Honestly that One was Better than the Other, I found the 787 more to the liking of Passengers on the Flight I took as they liked the Seating Arrangements.
When it Comes to Technology I am no Expert in the Field of Aviation but an Ardent Follower.
You might think I am Biased but I Like Boeing over Airbus Industrie with Absolutely no Disrespect to them what so ever.
The Boeing Aircraft from the 707 to the Latest in Jet Technology is Brilliant, How many times have we seen the 707 Airframe used in all kinds of Military and Commercial Modes, The 727 both standard and stretched Fuselage purely O

I have also Flown in both types and Honestly I couldn't say one was better than the other.
Most people on the 787 liked the Aircrafts Fitout, I found it to be Clos,. Aviation Technology sure has changed, I am an Ardent Boeing Fan with no Disrespect to Airbus Industries.
From the 707 through to the latest Jets they are right up there.
How many times have we seen the 707 Airframe used in Multiple Roles both Commercial and Military and then the 727 in both Standard and Stretched Fuselages were an absolute joy to fly on.
To today's technology I have been on the 737-800 and so smooth and yes Boeing had the Problems with the 737 Max and still do with the 10 Series's but it will prove itself once in Airline Service.
The 787 in its Various Fuselage lengths have also had Problems but Again I say that Boeing will see this Aircraft as a Pinch Hitter in the Airline Game.
The 777-X in both 8 and 9 Series are Beautiful Aircraft, I saw the 777-9 take off at Farnborough and almost climbed at a 50 or 60 Degree Angle then level out and continue.
The 777's are Slated for Commercial Airline Release in 2024 but the one thing I know is that Success breeds Success and the New Breed 737, 787 and 777 Will make their way into the History Books of Boeing for all the Right and not Bad Reasons.
On just another Note look at the B52 Bomber and her Age, Amazing Aircraft.
I again Reiterate I have Nothing against Airbus Industries.
I hope Boeing Doesn't throw away the Plans and Tooling for the 747-8 either as with the eventual sooner than later I hear Retirement of the A380 from Service it opens up new Questions to be Answered , Yes the 777-9 can cover but Four Engines verses Two is still a Big Talking Point in Aviation Circles Especially with the Advancement Of Engine Technology.
As for a Mid Sized 7M7 I don't think Boeing should look at an all New Design, I know that the Tooling for the 757 may have been Tossed away but in Hindsight Narrow Body 757 with New Power Plants and Advanced Aircraft Structural Technology with Fully Enhanced Flight Deck would give The A321 etc a Run For Their Money as why are quite a few Airlines Continuing to Use this Aircraft.
One Word, Fantastic says it all.
The 767 in a Newer Styled Fuselage and as with the 757 give Boeing that Intermediate Aircraft they are thinking about something else to think about, In other Words that which was Once Old is all if a Sudden New Again and Back in Fashion.
Just before I Finish I would like to Mention the The B52 of the Military, How Old is this Aircraft but how Unbelievable it is with every New System they Design for it, With New Rolls Royce Engines this is indeed going to be a Once in a Century Aircraft .

ОтветитьMany people mentioned that already but B787 must be compared with A330neo. A350 is main rival for B777 and it has more passenger capacity though.
A350 is more comfortable like all Airbuses in comparison with Boeing airplanes. I asked once flight attendants on board what they prefer to fly, their answer was A350 because of the lavatory design making easier service and cleaning, more quite cabin and after the flight less headache, wider aisle making easier food and beverage service.
I have flown both. I prefer the 787
ОтветитьTried the B787 with Korean air and the A350 with Asiana Airlines / Singapore airlines, all in business class. Both B787 and A350 was really great compared to their predecessors such as B767-300, B777-200 and A330-300 in the same route. But personally, A350 just felt like a better aircraft in overall.

ОтветитьYou should revisit this comparition but between A350 and the Boeing 777 and A330 Neo and 787. Those are the closest direct competitors and are used on the same type of routes/operations. Sure the largest 787-10 matches the smallest A350-900 in seat capacity but lacks in every other department and is by far the least popular version of the 787.
Airbus intentionally targeted the ageing 777 with the A350 and Boeing is responding with trying to upgrade the 777. If they already had a good competitor for the A350 with the 787 they wouldn't bother with the 777.
787 and A350 are usually compared to each other because of somewhat similar looking design and both beeing the innovative and uses the latest tech and materials at each companies disposal. But if you'd park them side by side, you'd see that the A350 is a much larger aircraft. That is why it has more powerful engines, larger take-off weight, longer range and costs more.
Airbus is ahead in the large long range widebody category and Boeing in the smaller widebody category.

Ответитьit must be remembered that the engines are not built by the aircraft manufacturers but by independent companies or conglomerates for example general electric or Rolls-Royce etc...

ОтветитьI have yet to fly on either but I guess as I'm from the UK I am slightly biased towards the European made aircraft so it has to go to the A350....but I could be proven wrong one day!

ОтветитьHands down....A-350 is better, I rather pay more but Im with a Safer aircraft, after all the 787 has been grounded twice, the A-350 never.

Though i do like the 787 and its sleek and modern design
the A350 is better than the 787 because
-more expensive but bigger longer big tank of fuel and has a better technology
A350 much better plane then 787 more range and cost!
ОтветитьDo you know that A350 has less compartment of the fuselage? This means that the fuselage has less connecting points which is a benefit to the stiffness of the fuselage! Airbus has probably learned from Boeing because they launch this model later than Boeing 787!
