When our massive 2022 flood (water 2M ABOVE the roof for at least half the town) hit they said one in a thousand years - a month later it was repeated. We fared OK, but witnessing the destruction of a city and so many peoples homes, livelihoods etc. is still really weighing heavily on our hearts. The mere sound of rain on the roof brings the fear back - so watch out for that my friend, you're OK, but this will take a big emotional tally. That and the fact "normal" weather has not been resumed since...

We finally got power back last night here in Valrico. God bless the linemen. The 110 outlets in my truck got us through! Had a lot of branches down like everyone else, but we got extremely lucky. That's about as nasty a storm as I care to ride out.

I shudder to think what would have happened if it had hit right above Tampa and brought that surge on top of all the flooding. A lot of people got it really bad, but it could have been even worse.

I'm relieved to know that the whole gang seems to have come through this one okay. Tampa got lucky when the storm veered south... that made sure your storm surge went out instead of in. As you noted, power recovery and other things are liekly to take a while to come back, so hang in there.

Here near Gainesville we personally were just far enough south and east from Helene , it was more the week without power , almost a dozen large trees down but not on a home or car, and loss of food and for Milton we were fortunately just far enough North and west that it was mostly downed trees that blocked our way into property after Helene and its taken care of, Stay safe my friends

You have lived through two Hurricanes all within a month and have made countless trips across the U.S on the sketchiest vehicles known to man. The Lord our God is watching over you man and you need to start seeing it. With how bad our world has gotten it is only a matter of time before God brings his wrath and the anti christ rises. God gave his only begotten son to be born as a child from a virgin to grow up and be a perfect man named Jesus. Jesus lived a perfect live on this wicked earth and was eventually prosecuted and killed because of who he was. After his death on the third day his sealed tomb was empty and he rose again to take his place in heaven. Repenting from your sins and believing that Jesus Christ was Gods perfect son and was slain on the cross and rose on the third day is the only way in heaven. Please Shadetree don’t wonder your whole life lost. Just believe in God and your life will be so much more meaningful.

I lived in Tampa in 91 and the only hurricane was not nearly as bad but we hunted up some mushrooms of the local magical variety and a bunch of beer and rode it out llol

When floods happened in Australia, people came from 10 miles all around to camp on my Cousin's property coz he was on top of a slight hill. It shows we're just as vulnerable as Animals at times. Be careful near those Power Lines Bro!

You have to be prepared for underwater obstacles like bricks, car tyres that might have been washed there. The roads in Scotland have a lot of gravel and mud washed off higher ground in Autumn. You should measure from your house to the treeline , and trim and trees that are over height.😂😂
