Why is Joe suddenly “ok” with everyone after the fight. This scene never made much sense.

Looking back on first two American Ninja films as a adult, Steve James really is the best thing in them, by far the most charismatic and best actor in them. He's a little underused in the first one that's why the second one is my favourite. As you have more James in it and he gets to have some cool action set pieces in it. Him and Michael Dudikoff, work off well with one another.

In this movie, Steve James' character was defeated in hand to hand combat by a guy named Joe. James would later go on to play Kung Fu Joe in I'm Gonna Git You Sucka. I do like irony.

Kung fu Joe ain’t got no mojo. Everyone of those guys need a haircut.

The worse choreographed fight scene of American cinema.

What i like about this scene the most, is the fact that so many movie makers portray US military as 99% consisting of bullies. And so many US moviegoers cheer at US military personnel being tossed around like little helpless punching bags by that one quiet kid.
