Very informative tutorial, could you please do a tutorial on Cloud collaboration of Davinci resolvev18 projects and how to setup up the database on a NAS.

Do I need to install the server software on both computers I'm trying to access the projects from?

I'm able to access this on the server computer, but not on my 2nd computer. IP is correct (shown in server software). Checked Creds, server is online compatible, Resolve Ver 18.1.4, newest server build.
Error message says "Please check for correct credentials and if the server is online and allows client connections".

Hi John is DR faster to load projects when using the project server ? I have noticed if I have my project file database on a spinning drive it is much slower than if I have it on a SSD drive, so I have move the DB to SSD, but I am looking for even more speed when loading projects if possible 🙂

When I try to authorize network connections it breaks my Project Server entirely. All the user accounts get deleted, it does not save newly created users and when I restart the Project Server it prompts me with "The PostgresSQL server is either not running or the password is incorrect." Everything is installed via Blackmagic Design installer, it runs until I try to Authorize and it's on a VM located on a server just like yours - I'm totally stumped.

How would I use this to use my desktop PC as a host (where I mainly edit videos from) but also be able to access and work on my projects using my laptop? I don't have a dedicated server, and I don't want to affect my direct project access from my desktop PC, but just also be able to access my video projects on my laptop.

Can you show how to make this process in 18. I couldnt find any instruction or tutorial for this in davinci resolve 18. And I cant see postgresql under the local section. We can produce project library in project Server but can not connect from other pc. We will be so glad if you help us out :)

Do you know if it is possible to run this on linux? I'm attempting to run it on a VM on my NAS but I don't feel like buying a Windows LIcense just to do that. Linux also might be a "lighter" install.

Trying to open up Project Server across the internet for remote collaboration. Your video that you have up for Version 16 doesn't seem to quite matchup with the newer version 17. Trying to work in PGAdmin 4 as I am mac based, but there doesn't seem to be an option for username and password when you setup new databases in Project server 17, and not sure what values I need to change on PGAdmin to get everything working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I never had the "enable sharing" icon shine after I clicked the "enable sharing" button and authorized it. Do you know what is the problem?

How would one connect to the project server when outside of the local network? I saw in your previous video regarding the project server and port forwarding on your router, but I am hung up on the IP address portion. The remote computer's IPV4 would be for their local network IP address, so would both computers need a DDNS to connect over the internet?

Could you make a video showing how to do automatic project backups? I've heard of Python scripts but I don't know how to set it up.

Do you know how to setup Davinci resolve project server on a Synology NAS? We currently have a Synology in our office running all of our project files for multiple editors but so far we've been passing resolve project files back and forth between editors. The collaboration feature in Resolve seems like a no brainer for us.

Nice video. I have a few questions:

1) Does the project server also host media? If not how do you share media between multiple people running on the project server?
2) Is there a way to setup users and permissions? E.g. Jim can do edits, but not color. Rachel can do color but not edits. Kim can see all of it but can't change anything.
