Its crazy how the osprey sounds like a jet in horizontal flight but sounds like a huge Apache in vertical flight

Their sound while hovering is like nothing else, deep and pounding in person. The video only captures half of it.

Love the videos. But I can't help wondering what the neighbors think who live in this valley by having all these loud aircraft flying over them all the time.

What is amazing is that both the Osprey and the Apache are pretty quiet. I used to live in the flight path to Camp David in Germantown, MD and usually days before any President heads over there, if you are lucky you can see any number and all sorts of Helicopters heading that way. It is only after they have passed by that you can really hear them, definitely not before.

I didn’t know they were that fast. Don’t know if anyone who is watching this video has ever seen one of these in person but they are NOT little aircraft. I’m still laughing at the speed in plane mode. Awesome

The crashing modes are pretty impressive too. One LtCol was fired for telling his staff to fake the reliability data and the USMC is obfuscating the number of personnel killed.

Marvellous video of the CV-22B Osprey in action through the Valley of Mach Loop 😎😍

Incredible footage.

I live near Miramar MCAS and you can see 18s all day long and if you get lucky a 35 once in awhile. They have lots of Ospreys also but you don’t need to see those when they fly by to know what it is. They have a very distinctive thump.

I love the concept the Osprey embodies.
A true pleasure to witness it flying.

Amazing but really scary aircraft. Sadly so many have crashed. Sort of gets back to basic aircraft design, if it looks like it can't fly don't be surprised when it crashes
