TV soap opera actress June Buckridge (Beryl Reed) is afraid her character (a homey nurse called Sister George) is going to be killed off by the network. She has an awkward meeting with the studio's production head Mrs. Croft (Coral Brown), while Alice (Susannah York), June's longtime lover and companion, listens from the kitchen.
Directed by Robert Aldrich (What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?") from the 1964 play by British playwright Frank Marcus (which starred Beryl Reed).
