10 REASONS NOT TO BUY BOSE L1 PRO32

I need your help. I have watched almost all of your videos. I play electric guitar and would like to buy a pa to play my backing track and possibly plug my guitar to the pa. I want extreme clean sound at high volumes as well as heavy bass. Also midrange is highly important. Your input is much appreciated.

I have two S1pro the. I got two L1pro 16 the best sound and yes the 32 it’s very expensive and that floor control I agree that’s why I like the 16 pros

Hi what would you recommend for a PA system for a church that sits about 120 people? We mainly use it for preaching and one vocalist. We tried the l1 pro8 and it way too weak.Thank you!

This guy CLEARLY doesn’t know how to set this system up. It’s plain to see.

I purchased my first flagship model 2 with the flagship bass cabinet and have had nothing but compliments on the sound and set up. However I will say through trial and error on trying to skimp on the mixer I finally tried the T1 (back then) and it was like night and day. I’ve done 450 people with one m2 and a b2. Dancing at a wedding!

Minus the Bt issues

I was thinking about buying one, however:

- The height is an issue.
- FX are super limited unless you buy the extra tonematch, for hundreds extra.
- Bags cases need to be bought seperately. You'd think for 3000 they'd include those. Sloppy really.
- I don't mind the price, but I do mind all the stuff you need to buy separately for it to work properly for what you need it for.

I think that we can all have different opinions, I have owned two L1 M2 with double B2, I’ve had them for over 6 years, we run a wedding planner business, we’ve never thought of changing to a conventional speaker, we do understand however, that other brands are working hard to punch bass and make their speakers louder and at half the cost, our interest hasn’t been to blow peoples ears with the sound but instead having a pleasant sound throughout the entire room, if that was our goal, then we would probably be looking at some RCF or other brands that will deliver louder and punchier sound. I feel like this like everything else, we all have different tastes, I don’t mean to insult, we’ve bought cameras for photography, some can cost 2k some other 6k and there’s a reason why you want to go with something that costs more, not to show off, believe me the customers we deal with they just want everything to be perfect, hopefully at a low cost, they don’t care if you sweep the floors or vacuumed, they want to see it cleaned, a lot of times is just us, our taste. I would be lying if after so many years of using our Bose systems we’ve had at least one come up and say, the sound could be improved, instead they’ll come to us and say, we are amazed the way this sleek design speakers sound, they are really awesome. I much rather listen to what our guests have to say than what other DJ would say, I’ve friends who own conventional speakers and they love blasting it, they think is better cause is louder, when they see our system they go like; maybe try to sell these and buy the brand I got😊 we just smile, for us there are other factors that count, having this great speakers with a sleek design we have been able to store them in a smaller space, and we are so confident when we set these up it’ll do a beautiful job, not jaw dropping but it’ll do an awesome job. If we ever had to upgrade to a larger, bulkie and punchier we would be looking at Bose Showmatch, but we better have an army to move them, and a great chunk of money, while we can carry this with less help, others want to show off with big sounds, and maybe great but not what we want.

Why are the tweeters on the floor? Well, believe it or not, it’s not to provide good high frequency reproduction to the cockroaches. This is a case where Bose is doing it correctly, and everyone else, including Bose, is cheating. The defining characteristic of a line array is…the length of the line. The longer the column, the further the -3dB per octave instead of -6dB per octave loss over each doubling of distance goes. So, the longer, the better. Now the really juicy part: Having the end of the column terminate at the floor means that a virtual acoustic image of the column is spawned. The column acts as if it were twice as long as it is! As Ken Jacobs, the design chief for the original product said, “This is one of the few cases in physics where one gets something for nothing.” Now. If they would fix the connectors on the floor facing up, and work on control a little harder….

I was in Sweetwater yesterday testing various column array units. For the money, you can do better with other units. The EV Evolve 50 sounds pretty damn good for about half the cost. Add in just about any sub (and I paired it almost everything they had on display) I personally think you come out better. That system is not worth $3200, it's just not.

Hey OPAZ, I watched your whole video and totally get it that the 32 is not worth the money. I already did see that most reviews are about the 16 and it already looked to me that they are pushing the 16 and 32 because it makes them much more money over the 8.

The prices here are linear, which means a 16 costs as much as 2x 8’s and a 32 costs as much as 4x 8’s. Would you say that it would be a good setup to use 4x Pro8’s and having spacious sound that works well for Deep House / Tech House and Techno? Or do you have other models that you would recommend? I’m going out to some shops to test some alternatives like the Yamaha Stagepas1k, JBL etc.

I disagree to all that is said in this video. I own one, and the T8S too. It's the best PA system I've ever had. Period.

Here is your problem.. You already have and experienced a bigger PA system with 18inch subs.. If you downgrade with a small PA like the Bose L32 and Sub1 or even Sub2 you will lose power or db because this units are not like your big system.. It is not meant to sound like that, the beauty of this unit is for just a bit volume to perform more amazing sound, not for maximum for big parties.. Bose doesn't commercialize this unit as you wanted it to be.

Yup, the new Bose is way overpriced. I still have my old Bose L1 type 2 with B2 and Tone match. But I really didn’t need it very often. So I bought an Evolve 30 m. Came with a nice mixer and it works fine. I only play a couple venues that I need the Bose.

Stereo and mono bluetooth like tws partybox is now supported and working well with last firmware and new apps for all L1 pro and s1

Nice systems, powerful but for inside use it is one of the best p.a.
And now with firmware update, you can pair 2 systems for stereo !

The problem with bose is that they are lacking the innovation they use to have, and it's a dumb decision to trust a company when you do not care for real quality. I agree with all the concerns you brought up, bose doesn't fail in making good sound devices they just have fallen back on their names sake when I am no fool and I will knit pick everything a company I trust makes so I know I'm going to be satisfied with my purchase rather then regret it later. You're flat-out stupid if you do not vet your products before buying, I compare every product to every brand before I buy, and I have never been disappointed with anything I reviewed. I guarantee if they cut corners now, they will again, and it will be lazier as it continues. Will not be buying this model and will be keeping bose under the lens of scrutiny from now on.

RCF Evox 12 cheaper and 100% better than this overrated Bose .

I absolutely love mine. They are tall, but never had a show booked with tiny 7 foot ceilings.

I used JBL SR and Crown Macro Tech 5000i amps. My speaker wires were almost $2000 pr. Bose blows them away hands down!

That whiney voice is annoying as your review

I wonder what pa is similar in terms of sound quality, volume, high quality bags, practicability? The fact that I could come with just two bags - one of them with rollers - to a venue and set up in less than a minute. In my business, time is money and therefore i would like to trade in my L1 Model II B2 for this or any other alternative. Btw,I bought the S1 Pro when it came out and once again, they knew how good bags have to be – just replaced the S1 with the Everse 8 which offers clearly more bang for the buck, but their bag is totally crap. I literally hate this piece.

I am using my F1 instead of the 32. It does sound pretty good with a T4 with and external Strymon comp

its not a gimmick, i used the l1m2 for thousands of gigs these are made for artists not really so much for dj's.
artists need all those speakers because venues and stages come in many different heights, and most of the time the stage is elevated and the audience seating position is lower than the stage making peoples ears near the floor level of the stage.....if there were only a few tweeters near the top that would be way way over the audiences ears.
Bose puts a lot of RnD in their gear and make their products for a reason.

Ummm using a 32 in those venues is kinda a waste. If you look at the design intent of the series the 32 is def for bands or medium outdoor places where you’ll be in a stage. All those extra speakers on the bottom are aimed to a “crowd” below you.

I think Bose systems are like high-end cars like BMW's or Mercedes--they aren't worth the money, but boy are they nice. Not to mention very easy to transport which becomes more important the older you get. I play a keyboard and my partner sings and plays sax. My L1 Pro32 Sub 1 has filled the bill for us in a very satisfying fashion. Yes, I paid a lot for it....but boy is it nice. I don't necessarily disagree with the points made in this video, but in my opinion the pros far outweigh the cons.

You can adjust the height by only using g one tower. You didn’t know that?

If you can play this unit in stereo then you got one foot out of the mud . You have to EQ each one separately to the room.and then balance are tone them together.....as for the bass cabinet try raising it to the height of the top of the stick.raising and lowering it to find the right EQ to the room...ooooo yeah..both sub's should be on the same rack or stand ...one upright and the other on it side.. actually if you could turn the right speaker 😅 stick upside so tweaker are on top.🎉... How,,😂 Duck tape..I hope this works for you and me..i just have two boom boxes that I arranged like this.well one PA with 2:1 and a 2:1 Boom BOX.. when i was a kid i worked the system.a 100th tube system 50 tubes per side and replacing the tubes when they burned out..and i notest the audience never heard the true sound from stage 🤯...and i thought 🤔 you have to separate the Bass 😕 i ask all of the people i ran into anyway.they move that system to Mexico city.and it received an award for best sound system of the year 🤔... But i just got an award for spot light.😅 So my works great 👍...you can send check to me anytime 🤠😂...PS..you might try mixing the larger and smaller subs together and not two large... that's all😊

Finally made the F1 system purchase. So far, very nice, loud, and clear system. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I didn't bother with the 8, 16, or 32 because I already knew from an SPL perspective, the F1 system was superior.

It's unfortunate that the 32 didn't live up to your expectations. Here in the US, the F1 system is cheaper than the 32 at $2k per stack. While the F1 might be a bit heavier than the 32, I am still able to put it together and tear it down with no help.
