Consultants are used to prove you spent your allocated budget so the next year you get the same budget. Consultants are also used as a way to launder money.

The best consulting strategy is to ask your customers what they want and to give them exactly that. Your customers won't charge you. They will pay you to do what they ask

We used Mckinsey several times and its like going to a doctor and they tell you to eat right and exercise. Basically our top executives didn't have the balls to tell some of their chief designers which products to focus on and the designers almost ran the company into the ground. Glad we laid off thousands so McKinsey could tell them the obvious.

There are literally libraries of regulations covering just about any business or government action today.
And ignorance of the law is no excuse.
So yeah, any body could easily run into a need for expert advice.
Or face huge lawsuits later.

Fortune 500 companies love to waste money on this "consulting business". They should listen to its employees, they know the business better than any third party.

Seriously considering such consultancy, could really use more guidance to navigate the market, it is completely overwhelming. I've bought stocks picks this year but I'm still unable to make profit. However, a few investors I read about were able to make profits of upto $500,000 in 3months, so am I doing something wrong? I've liquidated most of my assets and I could really use some advice on what best to invest into.
