PPF (Public Provident Fund) is investment scheme for investors who want to avail income tax rebate under section 80C. Minimum amount of investment is Rs. 6000 p.a. and period of investment is 15 years. Rate of Interest (ROI) is not fixed and it is announced every year, till date interested paid is more than 8% p.a. Pre-matured withdrawal is not allowed but, investor can avail loan of 75% of total amount as on date on conditions after 7 years from start date. Please be informed that ROI for repayment of loan will be 1% higher than actual interest rate for that financial year. PPF account can also be opened in nationalized bank like SBI, IDBI, BOI etc. @ same interest rate.
