Dirt Cheap Performance: AMD Ryzen 5 5500U Review

Guys I just got my ryzen 5 5500u laptop but it only says Amd Radeon Graphics on GPU. Isn't it supposed to be Radeon Vega 7?

Just got an acer aspire 5 with this in it. Will see how this goes for my coding boot camp where I have 1-2 projects open and tabs browsing

I'm glad I found this. I've been looking into some of those 'mini-pc' computers and was wondering how to judge the various cpus. The benchmarks in here are making it much easier to judge them :)

I was going to get a 5500u for my partners laptop. She will have light gaming (ovcercooked 2, stardey valley ect) but then got offered a 5650u for the same price. Why not?

I have the same specs laptop only that is lenovo version. The performance is way worst then this. I have update the drivers reinstall a new windows os ans checked tdp but im still habing the same problem.

The CPU Benchmark of Ryzen 5 5500U (6 cores/12 threads 7 nm) is so high at 13153! Amazing performance. The Ryzen 3 5300U (4 cores/8 threads, 7 nm) also has high CPU Benchmark at 9936. AMD Ryzen CPUs recently work really great!

I ended up with a 5500u because I got a really good deal(under 400USD). It's good enough for my laptop needs, though if it was my primary system it would just not do it for me. That's what my 5950x desktop is for.

Bought one for my niece, HP 15.6...added ram ( From 8gb single channel, to 32gb Dual channel ) and upgraded the 512gb WD ssd to a 1 TB Samsung 980....huge differences those upgrades made. I also freshly loaded Win 11 onto the new ssd, this would be a laptop even I could use on a daily basis...as it plays 4K video on the native 1080p screen beautifully.
