The link between Oolacile and New Londo

I'm actually impressed at how good i remember the map with its paths from a game i played one year back by just looking at a grey mess

And this is why you snuff out the embers in DS3. Gwyn did not want humanity to rule over themselves without him watching their every move and when they did build their societies if they didn't benefit him and his age of fire then they were to be snuffed out before they had a chance to be more than what they should have been. Keeping us in line effectively, to be honest Gwyn do be scary as fuck when you look at all of the things that have happened in Dark Souls.

Stop it. Stop blowing my mind! This vid is 4 years old but I'm shocked I never found out about it. Might have been mentioned in one of Vaati's vids or something though, been a while since I watched the old lore series he made. A neat little tie-in between the two nations though, also makes sense that the kings would fall to the abyss, considering they erected their capital on the grave of Manus and the heart of the ancient abyss.

Wait.... now that I think about this why the HELL did Gwyn allow the humans he ruled over to build a town down there!? That's like asking for trouble. Oolacile messed with the abyss and got wiped off the map. Did Gwyn just really want that bit of Real Estate so badly?

I think is obvious evidance that Manus/abyss influence was on New Londo as well.

A lot of people are assuming New Londo was built over Oolacile's ruins, but I don't think that makes sense. Why couldn't they have built it before Oolacile fell to the Abyss? It would make no sense for Gwyn to decide to build a city of prosperity named after the home of Gods next to a spreading Abyss that's bloating people grotesquely, corrupting them and turning them into monsters. It's so much more logical to think that the Abyss started spreading after New Londo was founded.

New Londo, Oolacile, and The Ringed City. It would not be far fetched to think that all those three cities of men were allied and linked by the dark against the gods. Oolacile sent a messenger to the Ringed City, to its piggy royalty, while owning the dark soul and the progenitor of man, MANus, while New Londo and it's four kings was convinced by KAATHE to use the life-drain and join the cause of freeing men from their shackles. Everything makes sense now...

Oolacile was originally going to be in Darkroot Garden's place but they changed it at the end of the development process and quickly copied the map making a few changes to it. You can also see Darkroot Basin is clearly Kalameet's arena.

These guys are so dumb, why the fuck would you build a entire city inside a mountain that has a fucking abyss that it's ginormous

The sound at the end plays when your in front of artorias’s area, don’t know why it plays there tho

The end sound is actually just your own character breathing, ive heard it all the time when in quit areas like the darkroot basin

i really hope they remake ds1 in the future so we get all these epic details and imagine they added arena mode in that colleseum that would be epic

the DLC takes place in the past tho right? so if those areas were connected it wouldnt make sense. If theres ever going to be a ds1 remake it would be cool if you could go there but in present time

yeah I didn't realize that the dlc was the forest in the past until I saw that the area with the big open flower field before you see kalameet the first time is the part where those cats are in the forest

Manus is the Father of The Abyss. You require the art of abysswalking to fight The Four Kings. Same arena: the abyss.

You can invade people by the front of undead parish (out in the woods on dark root before you go into the place with titanite demon) and you’ll invade at the bonfire before the manticore boss fight in the dlc

Could this have meant that after travelling to Oolacile in the past you could have also traveled to New Londo before the flooding? That might have been an intention at one point and they scaled it back.

So new Londo was made over ollacile which was the buried over and made over by fire link
