The Federal Reserve cannot print the money out of a recession or depression. The debt is already too great and inflation will only continue to get worst due to excessive credit.

Ive been saying since 2020 that 2025 will likely be the break year. The Fed is running out a ways to manipulate. The US bond market is a mess and if the West seizes the Russian assets, no one will trust US treasuries.

I think Simon is absolutely wrong concerning the Feds path for interest rates. The fed is going to kick the can with QE and interest rates back to zero thereby reducing our annual interest on the debt from 1 trillion year to something much less. Why do I feel this way. That's what Japan is doing and we're going to follow suit. The Fed will buy all the bonds to get interest rates back to or near zero JUST LIKE Japans central bank.

Has inflation been marching downward? I don't see it. Eggs about a month ago were under $6.00 for five dozen and last week they were almost $9.00. I just bought a box of crackers, three bags were full and one was half full. I just bought more parchment paper. For the same price, I just got 50 sq. ft. whereas the old box that I still have was 60 sq. ft.. Our homeowners insurance went up a little over $1,000 over the past year, our property tax just went up 20% in the past year. I Prices are either going up for the same amount or the prices are staying the same and the quantity (and quality) of the product are going down. I just checked on some of the larger items that we purchased a year ago - furniture, tools and ALL of the prices are higher. If we waited until now to buy everything, we would be paying over $2,000 more for the items that we purchased a year ago. My husband and I were in a car accident 18 months ago and have not had an income so we definitely notice when prices are higher especially since we are now having to pull money out of retirement savings 10 years early.

While there are lots of indicators that a recession is coming, a number of Simon Hunt's key points are off base totally.
BRICS is not, nor will it ever be much of a threat to dollar hegemony. Nobody wants to trade in yuan or rubles. India and China, the IC in BRICS, are natural competitors and enemies, having fought multiple small wars and border clashes. Russia and China, the R - C, are also territorial competitors, with China still claiming lands that are now part of the Russian Empire. A good chunk of the Russian Army remains stationed at its borders with China for that reason.
Europe is very messed up economically, largely because of the Ukraine war, and divided. The economic union of the EU could be threatened. That is the main reason the the Euro is unlikely to also threaten dollar hegemony.
Both China and Russia's economies are suffering. China is very, very messed up right now, and is in the midst of a dysfunctional leadership crisis.
