I have a 2019 Wrx and it’s a daily but I want to take it to the track occasionally during the year. I’m looking for a good set of coilovers that can do street and track duties well. I’m deciding between RCE SS1 or SS2, FA500, Ohlins R&T and KW V1. I’d like some help deciding between them. I don’t mind paying a bit extra for better performance but not too much.

I don’t have any coil overs, because I cannot afford them. Therefore , if you can’t afford good coil overs, don’t buy cheap ones. Just leave it stock.

I really don't understand why anyone thinks they can spend substantially less than factory for suspension and think they're improving performance. I wouldn't buy coilovers cheaper than $1,500 if they were non-adjustable let alone spending less than that for adjustable coilovers. I got the RCE Tarmac Zero coilovers on my STI which were $1,800 at the time. They're fantastic. If I wanted something adjustable, I'd step up to the Tarmac 2 for $2,700, and then I'd get them shock dyno'd so I know which settings on each actually match.

Yeah I did faction fab on my 2015 sti and it ruined the drive for me, I ended up selling the car and the coil overs were a big part of the reason why

Great video Kevin. How are these Racecomp Engineering Superstreet 2 compared to KW V3? or even Ohlins Road and track? I know the Ohlins you have to paid for the top hats.

What would the labor be on installing these? Any rough guesses?

Faction fabs FL CO are pretty good, great for city, and I can stiff them up when I go to the tracks

Where's a good price point on a more budget friendly build? I'm not cheaping out cuz I don't wanna break my car before warranty is up. So any recommendations on coilovers n a good price range? And yes. I would like it more track friendly. I don't go often nowadays, but I'd like to in the near future and I want to be set up for when I do.

Installing the Ohlins on my gr86 made me incredibly sad and the adjustment knobs are finky and feel cheap that’s all I’m gonna say. Would’ve rather gotten the hks hipermax r’s😔

Bought my FactionFab FL Spec V2 mainly because of your video in regards to how happy you were with your set of F series at the time! I don't think they're horrible by any means for the money, but I can't lie and say I wouldn't love a set of RCE's myself!

Quick tip: Use WD40 and thread it back in and out until its free if you want to save the bolts.

Yup you get what you pay for… and yeah white wheels would look good on the car though.
