I still play Unreal 1 online from time to time. You'd be amazed that there are actually dozens of servers. However, I never considered using voxels for an FPS. I definitely have to try that.

how about Diabotical? great game although I feel it gets a justifiably bad rep (epic exclusive, hasn't been updated in a while, quake live clone, etc.) though that should change in the future since 2GD said the game would get a steam release around 2024-25 not that I think it would help the playerbase but I think just having it on Steam is more convenient. Dunno about the game's future in terms of content but it has custom mapping support and the game in its current state is pretty solid. Basically a modernized Quake Live with updated graphics that's F2P. Wish it got more traction. I want to like it more than QL but can't because nobody plays it.
