Excellent bio-mechanical solution separating out gear in your backpack and placing a portion of it on your belt/hips. Why, your spine is the center of your torso rotation and prime torso structure. Your hips and torso rotate during walking/running - your primary function for efficient motion. For this to work effectively, you need a backpack that needs to be above ones hips. In my opinion, the Survival Belt Rig shown only suffers using shoulder straps. The straps possibly limit freedom of torso rotation. If the backpack holds about 20 pounds of gear and the belt rig supports the balance of gear without the shoulder straps for the belt rig, that would be best in my opinion.
ОтветитьHow stable is the molle mounting? Have you experimented with ways to attach the molle pouches more solidly?
ОтветитьGreat vid.
I've just got Viking war wide belt and currently setting it up.
Nice to get some ideas from your video.
great job! thank you.
ОтветитьSo how is it wearing the rucksack on top of the y suspender harness? Could you talk about / demo that? I haven't found a comfortable way to wear a rucksack over y suspenders yet. Thx!
ОтветитьWhere did you get the bottle bag
Ответитьvery nice collections!
ОтветитьCooking / heating water? Meals / snacks?
ОтветитьI know it’s been a year for this vid but have been revisiting my options and really like the belt system, so thanks for this 👍 been 5 months since we’ve heard from you, hope alls well
ОтветитьIs there a way to incorporate this concept using a medium ALICE pack with frame? Trying to see if there is something with a frame that might work. I’m a bit older and looking for that back support. Thanks!
ОтветитьLate to the party, but I'm curious how does the rig carry with backpack or rucksack?
I have been considering similar setup with my Savotta Jääkäri L, ditching the waist belt of the rucksack and using a belt rig.
But I have been wondering which is better to carry long distances: Rucksack + Belt rig VS. Rucksack with waist belt?
Great video.
ОтветитьActive military is survive, fight, live.
The rest of us it's survive, thrive, live :-D
Hi Sorry, I got one more question with this type of system. I got a little while ago a 3 day assault pack US Army and the stiffner in it broke so I had to remove it. Could you recommend a replacement that would not cost heaps? Its so it will go with my load bearing belt?
ОтветитьCool load out. I've got an old US Army load bearing belt rig in ACU pattern and have not used it. But you have inspired me to give it ago as I've been having issue with getting my head around it. Plus when I wear it I'm not use to everything being centralized around me which does seem to give of a weight difference as in distribution. Please keep making the how to mix and match videos about gear and just on the side I love your Russian gear.
ОтветитьNice
ОтветитьThe fold up water bottles are great, you are the only person I have seen using them.
ОтветитьNice set up.
ОтветитьAnd not a mark on that knife!🤷♂️
ОтветитьI'm starting to think that I need to do something like this for health reasons. Good video
ОтветитьThanks for sharing dude!
Ответитьreally awesome video...i was trying to figure out how to make a survival belt rig like that...
ОтветитьNice setup. Personally, I always preferred the H harness to the Y harness. I was recon with the 82nd a few decades ago. We would personalize our LBE setup. If armor is not needed, it's still the best gear one can use. Comfortable, cool and can carry a decent load.
ОтветитьWhat is the back pack that you had on top of all of this?? Sweet setup bte
ОтветитьOne instructor said, open up the belt all the way so you can fit more stuff on it. If that floats your boat.
ОтветитьAlso, having a low profile pack makes it easier for walking under trees and bush.
Ответитьmy plans exactly!
ОтветитьThis is an excellent video. I was trying to figure out how I can carry a survival rig for hiking and a separate pack for overnighters. I want to be able to set up a basecamp then go explore without leaving my survival rig behind! You made it all come together! Appreciated! Keep it coming!
ОтветитьCool vid thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьMy single critic is that the belt without padding WILL cause rashes overtime and if in true use
ОтветитьWilderness, rural, suburbs, and urban settings all have slightly different needs/Equipment and 3 line kits. Battle belts/Chest rigs/LBE/Assault packs. 72hr packs/Rucks etc.
ОтветитьBrother Awesome gear! What the name of compass that Badass? Best Regards and Keep Safe!
ОтветитьThe Olympics end on 02/20. That may be an important date if a power play is on the books🤔 Monitoring developments as this unfolds. Bad situation.
ОтветитьI'm trying to build a similar system. I have the same buttpack.
ОтветитьGreat stuff
ОтветитьI've always been a fan of the buttpack on a pistol belt with a harness for carrying the basics. For me, I feel I can travel longer and be less fatigued. Partnered with a small backpack like you have here, it's an unbeatable combination. I like the way you set yours up, as you have plenty of space left to use for your specific travel plans. Love your channel, sub'd.
ОтветитьI also went the Alice belt kit way. It is cheap and functional. Especially for shooting range. I can carry around mags, medkit and water no struggle and no sweating like with the chest rig. My only concern is if the shoulder straps won't make mess under my main backpack if I go innawoods ????
ОтветитьAwesome backpack!
ОтветитьThe water bottle bag is from Pathfinder School?
ОтветитьIf you get the right belt and bag, the bag can rest on the belt kit. The British army Osprey works well for this.
ОтветитьCool belt kit, must admit, I've been thinking of doing something similar with UK issue gear, really liking the videos, good health and safe travels, cheers craig
ОтветитьNice setup Jess. One of the main things I like about a belt rig as apposed to a chest rig is the belt rig is just much cooler to wear.
Nate
Need to toss some snacks in there. I have used the Canadian 82 pattern webbing in much the same way although lately I haven't touched it. This makes me think that maybe I should repack that old kit.
ОтветитьThank you for the insite.
ОтветитьAlmost there buddy on your way to 10,000 subs
ОтветитьHello! I just found your channel. Nice set-up👍👍
ОтветитьNice rig Jess. I have a similar one with all ALICE gear and buttpack. Well thought out. I've been meaning to use it with my medium ALICE pack to distribute the gear and have more room in the pack. 👍
ОтветитьHow’s the Adirondacks? Been to the Ohio pub lately?
