This is useful IF you have the money and IF you are monetised. But if you’re just starting out and don’t get paid, a phone is enough. I use my phone, and what I’ve invested in is lighting and sound. That’s basically it :) once I get monetised I’ll invest but for now, it works!

If you want more character in your videos get anything but Sony (too clinical - not great for faces over 30 years old). This just seems like a Sony push... Panasonic G9 II is great (has autofocus, stability of Sony plus all the Panasonic video tools) - and has great audio if you can't afford a separate microphone yet. Also allows you to use cheaper lighter lenses for creating different looks. Also records for hours without overheating that some Sony cameras have a problem with. There are heaps of second hand cameras with better specs that are just a bit older if you are willing to experiment and will be much cheaper if you are on a tight budget. ie second hand Nikon or Fujifilm or Oympus or Panasonic or the soon to be released Alice camera which you attach to your phone. That will be one to watch. Sorry Omar but your vid needs some work.

Your smartphone is best for beginners but you'll drain your phone's battery faster and you'll get distracted from vlogging by calls & texts. So i really think investing in a camera solely for the purpose of recording is a good decision.

Would like a recommendation for product unboxing reviews where the product and accessories are the focus.

Those camera prices are a bit stupid so I’ll stick with my phone for now

Everyone recommends the zv-1 but it still looks a little shaky for vlogging like if you're walking and talking at normal pace...

Dumb question, but if we want a few different shots - say a front on, a side view, and maybe overhead for making food, that requires 3 cameras then, right? Or does such a thing exist as adding on extra "monitors"? Because 1 $2000 camera is one thing, several is something else. Anyone have a video recommendation on this sort of thing? I'm so green I don't even know what to Google. Thanks!
