How to Add/Upgrade/install an SSD SATA Drive to Alienware R11 Aurora or any other PC? Quick and Easy

How to easily add an SSD SATA Drive to your PC. In my case I am going to put it on my AW Aurora R11 Series PC.

The SSD Drive that I’ve got is 1 TB Samsung 860 EVO series SATA III with upto 6GB/s data transfer speed. Adding an SSD to your system is a great idea as it increases the overall speed and performance of your PC especially if you are running windows from SSD drive or are using it as a gaming drive or a cache drive for your applications.

All you need is a Sata III Cable make sure it supports 6GB per second data transfer speeds to make the most out of your drive.

In my case I opened my R11 PC. I plan to install Two Sata drives on my PC. So first thing I did was to locate the Sata drive ports on my PC’s Motherboard. Connect the Sata connector to the motherboard on one side. And connect the Sata Cable along with the Power supply input cable to your Sata Drive.

Find a safe spot to put your SATA drive into your sytem. In my case the R11 does have space for putting extra peripherals. I find this spot at the bottom convenient and safe
After installing the drive, turn on your PC and check if the PC has detected your Drive.
You need to create a Drive partition which you can either do it in Disk Management tools by Windows 10 you can access it by typing Disk Management in Start menu Search area or use Windows+R hotkey to open Run window and then type Disk Management. in my case I am using this Paragon Disk utility.

Create a windows partition and format your drive and you are done!
I have also created a video on how you can get a Sata drive at a cheaper price by buying an Expansion Drive and taking out its Sata Drive to use as an Add-on drive. Which could save you some good amount of money.
