It's funny how the narrator pronounces Newfoundland. It looks like he's not Canadian.

But nice work, though.

Some of the stuff that was mentioned is just flat out not true.... A lot of this video was what most people believe to be the truth even some Canadians but there are some stuff that you got wrong. Most notably that for a good amount of time the city of Kingston was the capital city of Canada, it wasn't always Ottawa.

I always thought it was the French revolution and Louise the 14th being a complete idiot lead to France losing a foot hold in North America back in the day. As it fell apart and consumed its self while being attacked by foreign invades at home, there was no one steering the ship, as it were.

Hello from the USA. My favorite Province of those I visited (never been to Yukon/Northeest territories, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nunavut or Labrador/New Foundland.

I love British Columbia most though find Autumn in Quebec to be as beautiful as New England and love the natural beauty of Alberta around Banff.

I like BC because of the Natural Beauty of Kamloops, the food on Robson in Vancouver and the majestic beauty of the Fiords on Vancouver Island.

It's funny when English-Canadians claim Quebecers are not Canadians, yet the people along the St-Lawrence have been calling themselves Canadians for over 400 years now. And yet, a second or third generation Canadian will say stupid shit like that, and then go on the sing the French-Canadian anthem, among other things....irony and ignorance at its finest...

Imagine the new history after 50 years from now… it will be like - India’s population reached world’s highest they started immigrating to EU,UK, New-Zealand , Australia, US..Soon all the first world countries turned smelly , stinky and filthy like slum and the native language was changed to Hindi, Punjabi , Gujrati and other South Indian languages .Deodorants got banned and the noise pollution increased

Your country is a globalist run shit hole; unaffordable, you're regulated to death (internet included), you don't have freedom of speech or rights, and immigrants are taking over. The people I talk to in Canada are depressed and just want to get the fuck out. You people are way too passive and need to nut up! You get what you vote for though.

The Vikings were the first non-native people to settle in Canada and the New World in general that we know of for sure. They built a settlement in Newfoundland around 1000 AD. It is unclear for exactly how long this settlement was occupied for or if there was more, but ultimately it was either abandoned, pillaged, or its inhabitants succumbed to disease or assimilated into the local population. Theories abound. Nearly 500 years later in 1497, the Italian explorer Giovanni Caboto was the first European to explore the North American coast, claiming it for the English crown. Shortly after, the Portuguese would do the same but remained unclaimed for, and Basque fishing outposts were built until the French arrived. Jacques Cartier claimed the land for France in 1534. He named the gulf and river after St. Lawrence's feast day on which he arrived. The French called the territory around the river Canada after the native for settlement, 'Kanata'. After several failed attempts at permanent settlement succumbed to starvation and disease, the cities of Quebec and Port Royal were successfully established by 1670. The English colonies in the south had expanded and new settlements were established in Newfoundland and south of the Hudson Bay. The fur trade, particularly in beaver pelts, became extremely lucrative as it became the favorite material for hat makers and luxury winter clothing in northern Europe. This greatly encouraged further northern settlements by both English and French fur trappers seeking to make a fortune. The French and the English did not peacefully coexist, with the French temporarily taking much of the territory around the Hudson Bay during the lengthy period known as the Beaver Wars. Not only the Europeans became wealthy and influential from trade in beaver pelts.
