ОтветитьHey it's David
And thank you so much for this.🙏👍
Hi Amanda, i have a question/problem. I live on the coast in Ecuador. The temp is quite stable at 85 degrees. In my a/c bedroom it drops to 79. I understand that to trigger stem/bloom growth, a nice trick is to move the plants to a colder room at approx 65 for a few weeks.
ОтветитьHi Amanda. I am growing phals. How do you trigger stem/bloom growth if you live in a stable 85F environment (ecuador). I cannot move them to a room with 65F temp. My bedroom is at 79F. Any ideas?
Thanks for your help and goid luck on your new channel.
Thank you, will set all up in my bedroom with a fan. Makes sense. I will do this for a month and see what happens. Thanks again!!

ОтветитьHi! Just found your website and channel while looking for help with my phalaenopsis. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I look forward to exploring more.
ОтветитьGood evening, I just discovered your channel! My name is Elizabeth and I have been struggling with orchids for many years. I am finally to a place where I can keep them alive and understand the reasons if they die. I am now working on getting them to thrive and rebloom!
ОтветитьHi Amanda. I started growing orchids around 1998 and of course was bitten by the bug. I was secretary of our local orchid society for 5 years and had to quit due to health reasons. I was forced to sell off most of my very large orchid collection as we downsized to a retirement village with very little room to have as many as I would have liked. Over the years I have lost most of what I had as I left the care for the most part to my husband, and let’s just say his heart was not in it. As we have so much more information at hand these days I have come to realise how little I actually know of the finer points and am starting a whole new journey in orchid growing. I recently discovered your channel, and will be watching non stop to find out all I can to improve what I have left and maybe buy some new plants.
I live in a sub tropical climate which is great for orchid growing but I can’t get outside as much as I’d like so have moved a few plants indoors. This will be a watch and see what happens. Kind regards, Renate (Australia)
Just came across your channel, listened for about two minutes and subscribed. I love orchids and have hundreds. Nice to listen to someone who really has knowledge of orchid growing and care.
ОтветитьHello Amanda! I have owned orchids for about 4 years now but am still struggling with them. I’ve managed to keep them alive but they aren’t in good shape anymore now that I have moved cities. They used to get flowers but was a very rare sight. I’ve seen just a couple of videos on your channel so far and and seems like I have found the right place to restart my orchids journey! I’m really looking forward to go through all the videos and be in touch with you for yoir guidance.Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience with us!
ОтветитьHello Amanda, I'm so happy I found your channel!! I've been following other Orchid channels but yours is a new, refreshing change and I love your warm, sunny personality, can't wait to learn all new info from you!! Have a blessed day Amanda!!💖😊🙏🏼
ОтветитьJust built an orchidarium and, being new to the hobby, I've found your channel to be a mine of information. I searched most contributors on the subject on YT and you are by far the best. Your content is clear, structured, professionally delivered without waffle, and you are easy to listen to! Thank you so much, Amanda! (Essex, England)
ОтветитьI'm so happy to find you! I'm on The Big Island where they bloom outside with absolutely no care. Looking forward to learning the best care for them in the house. A friend gave me a phalaenopsis 4 months ago. 0f course it was grown here in a clear plastic sleeve with cinder and a bit of moss at the top. It's been by the window for 4 months and hasn't gotten a yellow leaf or lost a flower yet. But it never seems to dry out?? I decided to experiment and cleaned all the roots and removed all the cinder and moss. It is now in a ceramic pot with no drainage and pure aquarium gravel. I watered it and drained the excess....now I'm just watching to see if it loves it or hates it!💖😁🏝
ОтветитьI’m thrilled I’ve found you. I’ve spent my evening just watching videos. My mom use to grow beautiful orchids outdoors (I’m from Puerto Rico) but I moved to TX 15 years ago and honestly have never grow any plant. Someone dear to me bring me an orchid, bloomed and now one of the stems is turning yellow/ brown what prompted me to look for how to care then and Viola! I found you!
I feel overwhelmed but trying to keep my plant alive and see if in the future can continue cultivating them. 😍
I need help. I don’t know which video you have that I should watch, but I have a Paph. that looks to have a little bit of white mold mold here there on the roots. What should I do about it?
ОтветитьHello! From Suburbs of Philadelphia. I have had orchids for several years but my success is hit or miss. I thought that my eastern Bay Window was the perfect place for my orchid friends. They bloom perfectly in April and May. As I keep them in that window, the leaves start to turn yellow and no more blooms. I've just moved them to the bathroom on a table. Hoping this choice will improve the leaf health. I see other orchid lovers using lime (powder) water, garlic water, lemon juice, milk water and cinnamon water.. Help!!!! Can you offer a simplified regimen of care and use of anti bacterial care, feeding, fertilizing etc. I guess I can just watch more of your videos. Thanks!
ОтветитьHi My orchid plant fell and the top flower and step broke cleanly off. Is that a piece I am propogate? Thank you
ОтветитьHi Amanda, I’m a new subscriber to your site. I picked-up orchid care lately and have been trying for approx 9-months caring for phalaenopsis.
ОтветитьNewbie. Love orchids.
ОтветитьHi Amanda, How do I know when to replant an orchid?
ОтветитьHello I'm a newbie Bob Wilson
ОтветитьHi Amanda - just found your site. There's another one with a similar name but it's in Bulgaria!!! LOL! I am fairly new to orchids but I love all kinds of plants and flowers!! Although I have a few friends in Florida who have their orchids outdoors, my orchids are all indoors as I live on Long Island, New York. I look forward to learning more from you! PS My pride & joy orchid is one my son gave me 13 years ago and it still blooms every year!!!
